I have about three of ...

I have about three of these, and recommended these for two others in the family with weapons and kids, however, be very aware that the "security" on this is very limited.I lost my key, and the battery died, my fault. No problem... a large flathead screwdriver, and in 5 seconds it was popped open. The actual locking mechanism is very weak. This is only "kidproof"

Impossible to program. Right out of box the powder coating began to peel off the top. I would not recommend this product.

Investment price is very ...

Investment price is very exceptional, seen this exact unit for much more through other retailiers. Shipping was before expected arrival time. Just one minor issue with the lock latch, it was sticky and would only open with the key. The manual sugessted to dab some oil on the latch once a year to prevent lock up. Quick fix, works well!

I bought this unit 2-3 ...

I bought this unit 2-3 years ago. It performed perfectly until a few weeks ago when it would not open. I'd enter the code, hear the sound of the motor moving, but it wouldn't open. I called Gunvault. They sent me a new unit immediately, with postage paid to return the broken unit. This is first class treatment and going above and beyond the warranty. I'll continue to buy their products.

Secures your "go to" ...

Secures your "go to" bedside gun out of reach of children. Can be mounted to something to make it more secure from thieves. Fast, quiet, easy to use. I think the light is just right because you don't want to give away your position as the Jihadists are coming through the window. I was able to silence the key pad beeps. Works as advertised.

The only reason this does ...

The only reason this does not get five stars is it would be nice if the courtsey light was a bit brighter, if it had a higher fire rating, and you could silence the key pad "beeps". Otherwise it is an outstanding product. Millions of code possibilities make it impossible for unauthorized access. Comes with large #12 screws to mount, any you could use threded rod, or lag screws for a stronger base. PLENTY OF ROOM for most pistols, however my 9-1/2" SRH wouldn't fit. I plan to use mine in a closet. I will dedicate the top shelf (which is removable) for a "hot" pistol with light, flash light, extra mag and defensive knife. This will be easy for the authorized users to to know what to grab if necessary. I will use the bottom area for misc. items and CCW pistols that may or may not be Condition 1. I plan on getting the smallest gun vault for night stand / vehicle securing to use with the cable. I would reccomend the deluxe model if you are to get one because the AC power is a plus (still not sure if it operates on AC and uses the 8 Duracell AA as a back up. Light and Motion dectector are nice too. Outstanding product. It is an investment that will keep all safe and will help prevent an accident that could scar you for the rest of your life (i.e. toddler locating a loaded firearm) and possily going to jail, and loosing all your rights. If you plan just to keep one pistol and mag in this - it is too big. I can fit a Glock 22, 17L, 27, 1911, and an LCP in this without them touching each other. It is BIG.

I like It! if you have kids it's a must. It has a motion sensor and let's you know if someone was trying to get into it! Fast opening! You program the code!

While not a 'safe' in the ...

While not a 'safe' in the true sense, after all it is portable, it is definately a good deterant. It will keep out the curious and anyone using just hand tools. I should be secured to floor or wall if you intend to keep valuables. The keypad is easy to use in low light or even no light situations and despite what the description says it does come with a AC charger (or at least mine did). It can easily hold up to two large handguns and a couple of extra magazines. Would recommend for apartments or something to keep close to bed for easy access.
