Meprolight Tru-Dot sights are up to 20% brighter than other tritium sights. The front dot is slightly brighter than the rear sight to help the shooter focus on the target. Light tubes are sealed with a patented bonding process that makes them impervious to solvents and oils. Tru-Dot sights have a 10-year illumination warranty.

Very impressed with the ...

Very impressed with the Meprolights. The sight picture is outstanding; the squarish profile of the front sight blade and the rear sight cut-out width combine to make repeatable accurate shooting. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to use thread-tape to get the front sight tight. I've put around 80 rounds through the AK and the front sight shows no signs of turning. I highly recommend these sights.

A bit in the pain to ...

A bit in the pain to replace the rear sight, but worth all the effort, the Front sight could have been brighter though as the two rear light eliments slightly over power the single front sight. All in all its a great product, will buy again!

I have used these on my ...

I have used these on my Romanian AK-47 for about a year now, and work quite well during the day as a standard 3-dot sight, and really show their worth at night. The front sight dot isn't as large as one would think, but this aids in aiming; no guesswork with a large dot. As a side note, yes, these will fit the AK-74, as well as the Polish Tantal. I've installed this sight on these weapons as well. Just make sure to get the Power Custom AK rear sight remover before beginning this project. It will save you a lot of headaches.

Only had the sight a ...

Only had the sight a short time but as usual Meprolight seems to be outstanding. Sight seems durable and well built. Mounted in minutes. Dots are bright and the sight picture is excellent. As long as the sights hold up and sight in easily as I suspect they will, this will no doubt be the best mod to my Romanian AK-47. A must have for the AK.

I like this sight!! Great visibility at night, and improved visibility over factory sights for daylight (can't see the glow but white dots slightly increase acquisition time). The front post is larger however and reduces accuracy over longer ranges- 100yd+. I hog hunt so no big loss for me!

I've only had these ...

I've only had these sights for a few weeks so I can't comment on their longevity, but so far they seem bull stout to me and I feel that they should last a long time. Installation was easy and the parts fit my Romanian AK perfectly. While the front sight seems a good bit wider than the original, daylight accuracy was actually improved a little, the difference in low light accuracy was amazing! My only complaint is that all of the Tritium dots appear to be the same size and brightness. Since the front sight is so much further from your eyes, it appears rather small, although quite clear and bright. The rear sights on the other hand, appear very large and somewhat indistinct. It was quite easy to center the front sight and horizontal dispersion was as good as if I was shooting in daylight, but it was more difficult to hold my elevation steady. The result was low light, 75 yard, 5 shot offhand groups that were 3 to 4 inches wide, but 6 to 8 inches high. Don't get me wrong, with the stock sights I would have been lucky to hit paper at all, let alone shoot anything approaching a group in such poor light. I really like these sights and I intend to buy a set for my other AK, I just feel like they might work better for me if the visible portion of the rear Tritium vials were a little smaller in diameter and/or dimmer. In fairness, I should also point out that my eyes are closing in on a half century old and that fact might have had a TINY bit to do with my perceptions. Oh yeah, the windage adjustable rear sight seems like an excellent feature. I was lucky and my sights lined up perfectly windage wise after installation, but using that feature should be a whole lot easier than shoving the front sight back and forth, no matter what kind of tool you have. Definitely a "Buy"!

Just put a set of these ...

Just put a set of these on my AK, aside from the Duracoat finish and bigger grip, this is probably the best upgrade I've done. With a half-life of 12 years, I'll take Tritium over battery run optics for a truck gun any day. Highly recommended!

This is a great sight ...

This is a great sight with quality you would expect from Meprolight. The sights fit my Saiga perfectly and accuracy has improved over standard sights. An added bonus for the rear sight is that it has a windage adjustment. I highly recommend this sight.

Installed a set on my truck gun. LOVE THEM! For those of us with older eyes they are a must have! Quick front sight pickup even in low light. I will be installing on my other 3 AK's.
