Not a drop in part as the other Volquartsen items I have purchased for both the MKII and 10/22.It took a bit of stoning on the radius' on both sides where the catch rotates in the frame. In fact it took quite a bit of stoning before the pivot pin would go back in.It does not seem to hold the mag quite as tight as the factory catch. It seems to function ok.All in all, ok for the price, just don't expect to drop it right in.

Very simple to install. No more fumbling with the old magazine release. Installed it in the family room with a screwdriver and a small nail to punch out the retainer pin. No fitting required.

Not a drop in part. Quality control lacks in this casting. It took 3 hrs of careful Dremel work to get it to fit properly. Doesn't hold the mag as tight as the factory part. Find another release. Don't bother with this one.

Took 3 min to install, it dropped right in with a great tight and smooth fit. Mag is just as tight as the factory mag release. Highly recommend!
