The Hornady Lock-N-Load Sonic Cleaner 2L takes cartridge case and gun parts cleaning to the next level. By using a combination of intense ultrasonic cleaning action, 80 watt ceramic heater and unique One Shot Sonic cleaning solution, this extremely efficient and effective method will remove built up carbon residue from the entire case and built up carbon residue and debris from gun parts or other small metal parts. The sonic cleaning action cleans the inside of the case, as well as the primer pockets, and outside of the case quicker and more efficiently than any tumbler on the market. Ultrasonic action creates "Microjets" that take off the most stubborn carbon from brass cases, gun parts, and other equipment that will fit in the machine.

Ultrasonic Cleaning removes fouling from cases, it does not polish cases. Reloader's looking for polished cases still need to run cleaned cases through a tumbler to achieve a shiny finish

Cases require dry time after cleaning prior to loading.

I've cleaned about 2k cases including .223, 9mm, and .357. I use a home brew solution of 2C white vinegar, 4C soft water, 2T table salt, and 2t dish soap, without heat. Cases come out nice and clean in 15 to 20 minutes. This cleaner is fairly quiet and easy to use.

Does what it's supposed to do.

So far I've used this device on my used hand gun cases: .357 mag and .45 ACP. I run it, heated, for 30 mins., the cases come out clean and shiny (at least on the outside), and remaining solution is always darker than it was going in. It's easy to use, and easy to clean up after. The "take out" basket is a good feature, as it allows me to: a) drain the cases after, and b) take them to the d/washer where I run them through, at least, a light wash cycle (in a net bag of course). I also run the basket through the same cycle. The only real bummer I've encountered is that the older, more used cases don't get as clean and shiny on the inside as I'd like them to be, but that's not much of a big deal, at least to me. Overall? Thumbs up and 4 stars for this.

Awesome in a box! This cleaner vs. a tumbler...hands down this cleaner. I used Hornady's one shot formula (which kindof smells and looks like dawn dish soap, but hey, it worked!), and did two 10-minute cycles. I did a little primer pocket cleaning before the cycles, no heat, and I have to tell you, I have a very difficult time telling the difference between the brand new brass and the cleaned brass. Cleaning .308 rounds, once fired, about 70 rounds per dip. Buy this unit! You won't be stuck telling others your sob story about how your tumbler for brass has now transformed into a rock tumbler for your daughter!

Used this product in high hopes of finding an alternative method to my noisy tumbler, I used bottled water and plenty of Hornadys solution on deprimed 45 cases that were quite dirty, and after four cycles, the cases did not look even look a tad cleaner, I love Hornady products but this one was a total fail! A pure waste of time and money!

Don't waste your money. This thing does nothing to clean cases. You might just as well put brass in the kitchen sink with dish soap. Not only does it not get the carbon fowling out of primer pockets it wont even take it off the outside of necks. I never use mine anymore. It's back to the tumbler for me.

From reading reviews on other sonic cleaners I was wasn't expecting to be this impressed with how clean my 45 brass came out. I also put them in for 20 minutes(40oz of distiled water & 1oz of solvent), & they came out cleaner then using treated walnut & then treated corn media. Much quieter & quicker than using media. Just make sure you give the cases time to completely dry before reloading!

For the first cleaning test I found 100 of the dirtiest 45 ACP rounds and de-primed them. I added 4 cups of tap water, two cap fulls of Hornady ultra-sonic case cleaner solvent, set the timer for 20 minutes and turned on the heat option. The cases came out much cleaner then I expected... Yes there was some fouling left around the primer pocket and inside the case but over all much cleaner and easier then dealing with a tumbler and media. Can't wait to try this on the 1911 slide and barrel and see how it does on that
