I prefer the flat top ...

I prefer the flat top sight on field guns over the buckhorn type so that less of the surroundings are blocked from view.All Marble replacement sights I have purchased, 5 so far, have required some fitting. Even if you are replacing a Marble sight on a brand new Marlin,like I did,expect to use a 1/4" triangular file to remove some material from the sides of the dovetail and perhaps the bottom in order to obtain a fit that requires only light hammer taps to install. File on the dovetail side away from you. This will prevent you from creating a notch and possible stress riser on the section that bends and you won't have to look at any glint from the bare metal surface when you shoulder the rifle.

This sight fit perfect on ...

This sight fit perfect on my Savage Mark II .22lr. The factory Savage sight is very loose fitting and moves back and forth with finger pressure. This sight was a good tight fit took 5 or 6 hits with brass hammer and it was in. On the negative side the double step elevator does not hold as good as the factory single step one. It's sort of loose and will slip down to the next lower notch if you push on it. Overall it's a big improvement over the factory savage sight I replaced.
