The Possum Hollow Bore Guides are the easiest and safest way to preserve the accuracy of your bolt action rifle is to clean your rifle from the breech/chamber end using a Bore Guide. Possum Hollow Bore Guides protect the chamber and bore of your rifle by guiding the cleaning rod through the barrel. A special o-ring seal prevents solvent or oil from seeping into the action and trigger mechanism. For optimum performance, add an optional solvent port (sold separately). Solvent Ports fit into the end of the Bore Guide to ease solvent application and end messy spills.

A great idea (using a chamber guide for the AR-15) but mine broke too. I had used it about 20 times and my buddy used it about 5 times when it broke in his chamber. Broke at the O-ring and it is just too thin in that area - we used Break Free on the o-ring every time we inserted it. Took about 20 minutes to remove the broken piece too (a real pain). You could use it with the end broken off but then there's a 1/4" gap the patch has to get across before entering the leaded area (and no o-ring seal.)

I've had mine since 2007 and it has worked great for me. Seems they may have changed it up a bit though because mine is white.

This bore guide broke the very first time I used it. The plastic under the O-ring is too thin and the piece broke off and was lodged in my chamber. It took my gunsmith 3 hours of labor to remove it. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this.

I use one of Possum Hollow Bore Guides for each of my guns. I had one break but it was not their fault. Other than that I have never had one fail to do the job intended from AR-15 to .340 Weatherby Magnum. All performed perfectly. I do take care inserting and removing it.Also this is a great company to work with. Highly recommend.

I have this product and I can't imagine how it would "break". It's Delrin and unless you... Never mind I don't know how someone could break this by inserting it into the chamber under normal circumstances. This is a very useful tool to align the cleaning rod with the bore of an AR. All you have to do is look at the diameter of the receiver to see how this tool is of benefit. I wouldn't clean my AR without it because it is a precision weapon and I want to keep the tolerances of it as optimal as possible. People do more harm by cleaning than shooting.

I received mine May 1 and was going to give it a higher rating until it broke, just like the previous post, not a very good success rate. Unless I get a free replacement, I'll continue to use it since it still pretty much does what it did before it broke. I clean my AR with the muzzle down any way, so the only thing the O-ring did was provide friction when withdrawing the cleaning rod, and I think that's what broke it. (Mine doesn't look anything like the photo in the ad)
