Speer cold-formed lead bullets have been a great bargain ever since Vernon Speer introduced them over 40 years ago. All Speer lead bullets now feature a hi-tech, multi-layer lube system. This great lube stays with the bullet instead of burning off. It won't melt off in storage or transport, and is clean and dry to the touch. The Lead Wadcutter design features a sharp round shoulder that delivers superb accuracy and precision paper cutting performance. Primary function is target shooting. This is not loaded ammunition.

I have used these bullets foor over 30 years. They provide excellent accuracy in a variety of handguns. They are all I fire in my S&W 52 and Colt Officers Model HB Target. They give X ring accuracy at 50 yards year after year.

I used these bullets along with 3.0 of bullseye. Accuracy was phenomenal. BUT leading was more than I was willing to deal with. Too soft. I now use a bullet with hardness of 21 BHN. Cleaning time is less than half the time.

Speer 38 wadcutters, excellence in lead

I've found the Speer .38 caliber hollow base wadcutters to be consistant in weight with just a few 1/10's of a grain difference between bullets. Its probably impossible for all the bullets to be exactly the same weight. I shoot the Speer .38 HBWC in my S&W model 52-2 automatic target handgun and have never been disappointed with these bullets. I've been a big fan of Speer bullets since I started reloading in the '70's. Give 'em a try, the Midway price is right. Enjoy

I've never had a problem with this bullet. I have shot over fifteen thousand of these over the years and have found them to be very accurate. Leading was never a problem. I was using Hornady. I switched and never looked back.

These bullets are much cleaner to handle and load than the Hornadys. They don't have the powdered lubricant that builds up in the seater die. Both bullets are quite accurate. I can't tell any difference in performance. These are just cheaper and cleaner to load.

A long time ago I used my reloads and Speer LHBWC to shoot the best 50 target I've ever shot. I am going to the nationals next week and was going to load some more to use. But they changed the way they're made. They're hard to load on my progressive press, they lead extremely bad, so bad that after a few shots the accuracy is gone. I won't buy anymore.

Was using Hornady wad cutters and was very pleased with those. I like these wadcutters because of less clean up in my reloader. Accuracy was just as good with SW 627 V Comp revolver and more accurate with SW model 52 target pistol. I will use this wad cutter over Hornady.

A dream to load, no excess lube and seating die does not get fouled after hundreds of rounds. Accuracy is also great out of a S&W 14. Makes other brands worthless.

No damaged bullets in the ...

No damaged bullets in the 500 package and was happy with the dia. and design and wax. Staying on the bullet better than others that I have used, in the past from other brands. This bullet is accurate at light target velocities to 30 yards and the maximum fps of 855 works. Best at the 50 yard targets, in my 6" 686 which. Does not have the tight fit as the normal 38 pistol cylinder to barrel gap. Accuracy might be even better in a 38 but I am happy with my 1.2" groups at 25 yards. Great bullet & price.

Excellent bullet for light loads. W231 works quite well. expect tight groups out to 50 yards depending on firearm. These bullets make for excellent training rounds for new handgun shooters, or for those who are recoil shy. They are also great for small game.
