I purchased one of these "just in case" as I don't plan to ever change the upper on an old slick side, triangle hand guard, 3 prong flash hider SP-1. I also purchased the offset pivot pin just in case I would ever need to do the reverse. When the parts arrived I decided to see if the offset pivot pin fit in the bushing. It did not. I tried the pivot bushing on a 1/4" pivot pin in an AR rifle. The bushing was too tight. Midway customer service was fantastic as always and sent me a replacement bushing no charge. I also ordered a regular DPMS 1/4" pivot pin. The parts arrived today. The DPMS pivot pin will not fit in either DPMS offset bushing. The bushings are too tight. I can polish out the bushings so they will fit. However, I should not have to.I have passed this information to Midway customer service and also to DPMS directly. Hopefully DPMS will do a little better on their quality control of this product in the future.

Easy fix. Part dropped right in and removed any play between my upper and lower.

This is a good product ...

This is a good product and if you need one....you really need one! This allows you to adapt (as in my case) a Colt Sporter lower to accept another upper. Most uppers are .250 and the Colt is .315...so the front pin must go from big to little to big again. This is a two part pin that screws together so there are flat heads on both sides. There is a "trick" to it to get a proper fit, the "offset" needs to be set so the upper and lower don't bind up when pressed together...a little tinkering with the fit before you attempt to press them together is a good thing. For whatever reason, you don't need this pin for the rear pin as the Colt rear pin will fit other uppers.
