The Frankford Arsenal 6" Electronic Caliper is an excellent tool for every reloading bench, measuring everything from the overall length of reloaded ammo to the diameter of cast bullets. This stainless steel caliper features a glass covered, high contrast LCD readout window, separate on/off buttons and a water and dust resistant surface.

To change the battery hold the caliper, LCD display facing up in the palm of your hand. Using your thumb push the tab with the triangle on top away from the LCD Display. This tab should pop right off and the battery can be accessed.

Yes, I definately love these calipers. I've just started reloading and this is my first time ever using a set of calipers. They are so easy to use and the measurements are accurate. If I take the same measurement 10 times I get 10 exact same results. I love it, for a novice that never used a set of calipers before, these things are idiot proof and that's just what I was looking for. They are really well built and solid and come in a nice padded case. Well worth the money.

I have many calipers both ...

I have many calipers both digital and analog and this is the only one that I will never use. These would not hold a consistent zero without closing and resetting between each measurement and I had to measure each item 3 times to get the calipers to give 2 consistent readings. New batteries made no difference; I purchased them because they were on sale for a very low price, but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. I can't even use these in the machine shop for rough measurements as I can not trust them.

I have had these for years without a problem. The only complaint I have is that the battery low flashing starts after a few days of solid use, but the caliper keeps working accurately for several months.

Just started reloading and decided to start on the cheap side. Never used one before, so at first I thought I was somehow messing up. But how can I mess up measuring the same case? Measured, opened and re-measured, measured closed and re-measured and yes 4 different readings. Just by reading all the reviews I should have known. Some love some hate...inconsistent!

I've used many different calipers, and owned a pretty nice set of Starrett dial calipers. One day, someone decided to steal items from my workshop, and my Starrett dial calipers were gone. I had very little money, and needed a caliper right then, so I took a chance on this Frankford Arsenal digital caliper. I've had it now for 8 months, and have loaded and measured thousands of cases. To test, I zero it, then open it fully, close it, open fully, close, open fully, open half, open fully, then close it to see if it returns to 0.000".. it does EVERY time. The ONLY reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is the battery life. The size 357 cell batteries only last a few days of use, then the display will blink, indicating a new battery is needed. There is a spot in the hard case for a spare battery, so this is not really a problem, just a gripe. This was intended to be a temporary caliper until I could afford to get another set of Starrett's, but here it is 8 months later, and I'm still using this Frankford Arsenal $25 digi caliper!

I purchased a set of these about two years ago and, at first loved them. Then I started having problems. I could start out with a good zero, then after two to three measurements, the zero would jump. It also had problems with the battery contacts loosing connection with the battery. If you are looking for a caliper, in this price range, do yourself a favor and stick with a mechanical dial caliper.

Absolutely terrible. Bought this to upgrade my Precision dial. Would not hold zero no matter what. Operation is very bumpy and inconsistent. I'd return it if it was worth the price to ship it back. Which it's not.

Sadly poor is too good for these calipers. Being a machinist by trade for 7 years I know a good set of calipers. I did buy a set of these several years ago, they lasted about 29 days, then the electronic scale went out and it will not read accuratly or even give the same reading. You get what you pay for. Personally I would buy the S/S dial calipers form RCBS or similar they are better quality and last much longer.

Either I got a lemon or ...

Either I got a lemon or most of the great reviews of these calipers are written by people responsible for selling these things. I have to admit, I purchased this instrument because it was very reasonably priced. The first time I used it, however, measurements of the exact same case varied by as much as a few hundredths of an inch. Almost immediately the variance began to grow until by the end of the day the error could be measured in whole inches. I will be sending it back and reinvesting in a plain old mechanical dial caliper. Save your money; if you'd be happy with this kind of precision then just use a ruler.
