The Tubb Final Finish Bore Polishing System is composed of a series of 50 bullets that are impregnated with 5 different progressively finer compounds. Enhances accuracy by polishing out bore imperfections. The smoother bore results in reduced fouling and less drag. Also makes the barrel much easier to clean. Removes no more than .0003" of metal from the bore and includes a reusable plastic case. This is not loaded ammunition. Reduced loads must be used when loading Final Finish Bullets. Bullets are made by Sierra. The grain weight of the bullets will be listed on the end of the package. Tubb recommends using the starting load listed in the Sierra reloading manual for that grain weight and bullet. Tubb also recommends not to go above the starting load for any reason.

It works! I was very skeptical about this until I searched the web and read all the reviews. I have a Savage 10 .243 Win in a custom thumbhole stock that I installed pillars and glass bedded and the best groups I could obtain were 1-1.25 (5 shots). After using the final finish I am now consistently shooting groups (5 shots) and have been able to tweak them down to 5/16 using hand loads. All groupings are at 100yds. Much easier to clean ( less fowling), and the chronograph didn't show any difference in my loads. I love this product and will be using it on my entire collection.

I rarely rate products this low. The reason I did so is upon receipt of goods, I noticed that the dividers where broken between grit the lowest 3 sizes. It took me a while to figure out what grit was what grit. An annoyance for sure, but easier than sending it back. Also, it states that you should be getting 10 bullets of each grit size. Upon final count I was missing 2 of the naked bullets/final finish (these are pretty easy to distinguish from the rest). I was also 2 long on the second to last grit size. I don't think that 2 bullets made or broke the final effects. However, I felt I had to give it 3 stars for the miscount and poor packaging. As far as performance goes, the product does what it says it will do. It made my poorly manufactured barrel clean up rather effortlessly.

I have 6mm Chambered in a ...

I have 6mm Chambered in a Remington VLS topped with a 6.5x20-50 VX3, Over the years my accuracy with this gun has started to slip going from .5" groups to just over an 1.25" groups, so I decided this would be a good product to use, considering the reviews. I meticulously cleaned as told to do in the instructions and did so every 5 rounds. I then loaded 25 rounds up and shot and cleaned every 5 rounds, then I tested the accuracy. My gun now shoots almost 4" groups at a 100 yds and I lost almost 150 fps. So I spent a few hours working up some loads and the best I can get is 1" @ 100 yds. and still can't retain the original velocity. But my barrel is easier to clean, but that wasn't what I expected out of such a well reviewed product!

I now understand why the cost of bore lapping is so high, it is a lot of work. It is work worth doing. I just completed the process for my .243 that I bought in 1981. I have always shot 1.5" MAO groups with it. I put an adjustable trigger in it and brought the groups down to .75" MOA. After the the final finish I have not shot a group above 1" MOA on windy days out to 525 yards with 14.5" wind drift. My best group @ 100 yards was .275" MOA. I have been shooting off a couple of bags of shot off the hood of my truck.

These work very well and ...

These work very well and are easy to use. I used mine on a .243 Savage barrel that was accurate, but fouled badly and was hard to clean (and nearly brand new). I followed the directions for a rough barrel. Firelapping improved accuracy a little ~20%, but didn't make quite as much of an improvement in cleaning time as I had hoped. Even so brushes and patches slide through the bore more easily, so the bore is most certainly smoother.Overall a good product.

I have an Ruger #1 243. ...

I have an Ruger #1 243. This gun has never shot 3 shot groups under 1-1/2" off of a rest at 100 yards. With most groups of 2" or larger. I purchased this system and followed the instructions. After using this system I can now shoot 10 shot groups at 1-1/4" at 100 yards. I highly recommend this product to anybody who is having trouble achieving good groups.

If you have a barrel that just won't shoot as a last thing to try this kit will improve it. I have used it on two different barrels and it made a big difference in both barrels.

This is the fourth rifle ...

This is the fourth rifle I have used this product on, and I am sold on it. My Ruger 77 mark II 6mm shot 3in. groups at 100 yrds. and took forever to clean. I followed instructions and now it cleans up in 20 mins. Groups are now under .50 inch out to 200 yards, so far. Will be using on all my rifles.
