This scout scope was mounted on a 1894 .44 mag with a XS mount. I did not know what to expect with the scout style scope , especially with the sight picture quality. Optics are very clear, sight picture is very good better than expected. Very bright, well pleased with the quality of lenses and brightness. The scope zeroed in well and adjustments were positive. As a bonus, the scope looks good on this rifle.The scope itself is very good quality and I would buy another one for a scout type rifle again.

If you are used to a traditional scope this scope will be hard to adjust to. The field of view seems to be surprisingly narrow and there is a ton of parallax error if you don't get your eye alignment right. Glass quality is ok and only ok, but for its intended purpose of relatively close range shooting (300 yards and closer - best at sub-100 yards) it is fine. There is definitely some wall-eye vision going on. The scope holds zero well, but doesn't track as well as I thought it should. 3 Stars because it doesn't go above and beyond in glass quality, tracking, or repeatability. The scope is good enough that I'll probably keep it, but not so good that I am plotting another one. I think the money is probably better spent on a good red dot set up.

I have this scope mounted on my Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle. Works very well with it. The optics are plenty clear and crisp and I can see very well even for 300-yd shots, better than I really expected to. The scope seems to be rugged and has had no problem holding zero under heavy .308 loads. My only complaint is the adjustment dials. I like a good positive click on adjustment, these are pretty mushy and it is easy to mis-adjust the scope unless you are real careful. other than this, I like this scope a lot.

I had some hesitation about the long eye relief scope setup in general, so I started with a cheap 2x red dot on my H&R Ultra Slugger 20 gauge. I decided that I liked it, and bought the Burris Scout. It is the first top-quality scope I've ever bought, and I love the clarity and view it provides. It has held up like a champ to the recoil. I am planning on another for my 30-06 bear rifle. This is quite a scope and I would recommend it to anyone.

Just got my Burris 2.75x scout scope today (9-13-10) from Midway,and mounted it to my Marlin 45-70ss guide gun, on the SX scout mount system (rail) with quick detach rings/bases. Optics are very clear. Got it sighted in today with my reloads, 350 grain laser cast over 45 grains of reloaders 7, aprox. 1800 fps. Burris makes an awsome product. Thanks Midway.

Have this scope mounted on VZ58 using a Precision Reflex VZ58 mount with medium height weaver rings. Scope was very easy to zero and is dead on at 100 yards (minute of beer can). Retains zero after numerous dis-mounts and re-mounts. When shouldering the rifle this scope's reticle is very fast to access and, belive it or not, quicker than the Aimpoint I previously had on it. Scope sits low on the rifle and looks really good. In my mind there is no better set up for this rifle. Prior to this scope I was never able to get a forward mounted scope to work for me. This one does and then some.

I have two, one on a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70 and one on a Custom 1917 Enfield in .338-06. Both are in Leupold QR weaver rings and give me MOA or better out to 200 yds. Very rugged scopes that return to zero every time.

If you're looking for a scout scope, look no more. I have this scope mounted on my Remington 700 using a B-Square scout mount and Warne QD rings. It's an excellent setup that never fails to bring home your critter. It has an excellent field of view, finger click adjustments and will withstand any recoil that I could throw at it on a 30-06 or the 45-70 that it started life on. It has never failed to impress me. This scope will take some getting used to. Once you do, it's lightning fast and minute of deer accurate, even under pressure. You could spend more money, but there is no need. This may be the best scope that I've ever used. My recommendation is to use a receiver sight as a backup, just in case you get dirt or mud on the lenses. Plus, that's the way Colonel Cooper's scout is supposed to be. Buy one, and you'll love it. That rifle of mine will never wear a traditional riflescope again. Enough said.

Very good scope for a scout set up. My 40ish eyes could tell no difference between this one and Leupold. I seen no caution direction on being .750 from the dimples in the rear like Leupold model. I have both and they are both excellent in my opinion just wanted to point out that Leupold has a ring location wearing.

I am very pleased with this scope. I placed this scope on a semi sporterized 98 Mauser, and the results were impressive. The scope has excellent light transmission, field of view, and eye relief. I used S&K's excellent scope mount for soldered on 98 scope bases, and am very happy with the combination. The accuracy of this combination was excellent.
