I have now Duracoated a Ruger MKII .22 pistol, a Kimber TLE-RL-II 1911, the furniture on an AR15, and refinished a Trijicon scope using Duracoat products. All have held up exceptionally well. The 1911 is showing some shiny metal on the sharp corners around the muzzle end, but that's after two years of occasional carry. This is a good looking, solid and durable finish that protects your firearm. I would use it again, and reccommend it to my friends.

I coated two rifle ...

I coated two rifle barrels with Duracoat. The instructions were easy to follow and the material went on without a hitch. It did not adhere to the surface as well as I was led to believe it would. There was peeling at the muzzle end of the barrel. I don't have a sandblasting operation, but did use the reducer to prep the surface. I don't know if I'll try it again or not. I believe that it would work as advertised if you can sandblast the surface first, so I would recommend it if you have a sandblaster that can accommodate your barrel.

Product works excellently as a DURACOAT Paint thinning agent to reduce the viscosity and improve the transfer efficientcy of the spraying process. Although not always needed, I still use it in various levels per the MSDS sheet. I use it as a standard formula for various suface finishes during times of the year when the temperature and humidiy levels vary.
