The Military Surplus Combat Vehicle Crewman (CVC) Balaclava is used by US Military Tank and Bradley Crews as well as crewmen on other tracked combat vehicles. These warfighters wear nomex uniforms to protect them in the event of a fire and when the mercury drops they grab the CVC Balaclava.
The balaclava is thick around the head and neck to provide warmth to soldiers when sitting in a frozen steel box. It also features a thin bib that goes down the collar to further protect the neck and shoulder area in the event of a fire and also protects from the much more likely threat of extreme cold-the bib keeps the wind from getting down your collar and chilling your core.
These new condition CVC balaclavas feature a single elasitcized opening for the eyes and nose that can also be stretched to expose the full face when the wearer chooses. Get one for everybody you would like to keep warm this winter.
