I'll choose hex or torx head screws over flat blade screws every time. They work fine.

I own 3 RRA Ar-15 platforms and 3 DPMS, 2 Lr-308's and 1 Sweet sixteen in 5.56. The RRA weapons already came with allen head screws for the pistols grips which are SO easy to change out grips using a T handle wrench. The Dpms weapons come with a flat head screw which is extremely aggravating to install. The driver usually slides out of the groove, and you are unable to keep the screw straight to start it in the lower without cross threading. I removed all 3 of my DPMS screws and installed these in their place. Great addition, and if you do a lot of mods or tinkering to your AR's other than RRA platform this is for you. If I buy any more AR weapons , they will have this style screw for the pistol grip. Specs: 1 inch long, 1/4"x28 fine thread.
