Only 2 issues prevented ...

Only 2 issues prevented me from giving these mags 5 stars:1) They need to be worn-in before the first round will reliably chamber (after the first rd chambers functioning has been 100% for me).2) All even-numbered rounds can be easily knocked out of the mag with a mild impact at the front of the mag. This does not occur with steel mags. I have no concrete answer except that it looks like the even-numbered rounds do not fit the inside curve of the feed lips as well as the odd-numbered rounds on the opposite side of the mag.Aside from that I've found them to be rugged, reliable, lighter than steel mags & easier to clean/maintain. Great mags as long as you're aware of the two points I made above.

Already rated the product but just wanted to add. Got a Factory 20 rd. mag from Ruger. The difference is night and day. Even though I paid 3 times as much for the factory mag as I did for the ProMag, it was worth every penny. I just don't get it. Why do the factory mags ALWAYS work and the aftermarkets seem to be 50/50 at best? Bottom line, if you want a magazine that will work 100% of the time in any mini-14, spend the extra $$ and buy a factory mag, any aftermarket mag you buy, you are taking a chance.

Polymer is quite versatile. This magazine fits my mini-14 perfectly - like they were made together and it hasn't malfunctioned on me even once yet. I would definitely buy more of them.

Tried it in the newer Mini-14, wouldn't feed every time. The mag felt sloppy in the rifle. Bought a Ruger factory 20 rd. mag. from Midway, works every time, even with cheap ammo in it.

So here is the deal....If you have a 581 series rifle go for it! I was a little sceptical after reading some reviews but soon realized it's just the older ones don't like these. The first round got hung up but after that I did not have an issue...fired all 30 without a hiccup the next mag full. Since then I have shot about 200 round through it with no issues and reccomend this mag especially considdering the price for the OE

Tried these at the range today in a well-maintained, well-lubricated Mini-14. Turned my rifle into a single-shot. Terrible. Every round jammed. Switched over to Ruger factory magazines and had zero issues. Never again for me, please!

I'll break it down...Pros: Light weight, cheapCons: racks the first round ONLY if its an odd number/the round is on the right side of the mag. When inserting the mag it has trouble locking into place and can have the same trouble when removing.Other Thoughts: This was my first Polymer mag and for the price I figured it was a cheap gamble to where I could really see if I like polymer. Sure there are cons but it basically turns a 30 round into a 29 round. The mag does its job which is holding and feeding rounds. I'm I upset its a bit unwieldy at times? Yeah. But hey, you can't complain too much when it does what its made to do....mostly

Ordered 3 and they worked well until I stored all 3 with 30 rounds each. After a month round started slipping out of the magazine. A bump to make sure they are seated to the rear would eject rounds out of the magazine. Will try their 30 round steel mags.

To begin with, I like this mag well enough to order another one. That being said, I've had two issues with the one I already own. First, the action doesn't lock open after the last round. This seems to be common with aftermarket mags since I have the same problem with a Power Mag for my 1911. Second, it had some feed issues with some hollow points that I loaded long ago. Might have been the loads since nothing I ever loaded would cycle reliably through an AR. On balance, if you keep your expectations in line with the price and want the extra capacity these work fine. If you need utter reliability go with the 20 round Ruger mags.

Bought one for my Mini-14 target model. Fits fine, but a little tighter than factory steel. Locks in reliably, feeds well, several hundred rounds without any jams so far.

Had 2 of these mags, they look cool. But they would not feed a single round into my mini-14. Couldn't even get a round to chamber. Good news is that I wrote a letter to ProMag, and they exchanged them for 2 steel mags that work great. Have had 0 issues with the metal mags.

I own 2 of these mags. Both feed just as well as the factory mags in my 580-series. I did cycle rounds through both mags before shooting in order to knock down any flashing that may have been left over from production. Loaded up to capacity, inserted mag in rifle and cycled action for all 30 rounds. Absolutely no problems with the bolt hanging on these mags. Would recommend to anyone with a Mini.
