Recieved this tube from ...

Recieved this tube from Midway and it appeared to be good quality. I installed it, tested it and it functioned flawlessly. The only downside to this system is that you can not use a different reciever end plate, only the one supplied.

The ACE buffer tube ...

The ACE buffer tube threading is too short to reach the edge of the buffer retainer pin when a standard receiver end plate is installed. You *can* get the buffer, spring and retaining spring/pin to stay in place, but the retaining pin will rise up and catch between the bolt carrier group and the buffer on the first cycling of the action. While unlikely that this would go unnoticed before firing live ammo, the possibility does exist. (You never know what a novice will do) The included sling mount is a generic one with a fixed oval-shaped loop. Since it is simply threaded into the included gusset, it seems as though it will constantly require tightening unless some locktite is used on the threads. It does not swivel which would relieve the pressure and prevent loosening.

Easy to install, foam ...

Easy to install, foam cover is nice, easy to install, but requires two sizes of hex key (not included in package, one to tighten the stock, the other for the plug screw for the opposite side from the sling mount) to finish installing. Sling mount just screws in tight, doesn't swivel - would be nice if they had put in a swiveling sling loop or a QD attachment point. Not a true pistol buffer tube, and the instructions warn that having an extra ACE stock end that will fit it could be illegal.

Great buffer tube set. ...

Great buffer tube set. All the parts were top notch. Only thing I did not like is the hole in the back of the buffer tube. It has threads for a stock. Does not look good but it works and does not effect function.Still give it 5 stars! good quality item here.

I've found the Ace kit to be one of the most reliable and complete kits available. Well made and functions 100% on all three pistol builds, a 7.5", 10.5 and 11.5" barrels with any 223/5.56 ammo.
