Got this scope as a gift ...

Got this scope as a gift to replace the one that had been on my .243 for years and had gotten condensation inside. I am thoroughly impressed. I expected to see that it had cost a LOT more that it is listed for. Very clear sight picture and when I went to sight the scope in, it got dark. I was surprised to find out that I could see the target brighter through the scope than with the naked eye. The adjustment tabs make for very easy and very precise adjustments and in no time I was making very tight groups.

Amazing for a non ...

Amazing for a non AO.Score is based on it's price. Clear optics are most important this scope has them. Not perfect but very good better than most..Eye relief range before blackout is very good & predictable.At 9x power it is in focus from as little as 25 yards to infinity. Closer than 25 yards you must reduce the power to 7 then 6x etc..Strange but excellent.I've had it on a harsh springer Air rifle over a year now.

Bought this on a budget ...

Bought this on a budget hoping it would at least get me by. The optic is very clear for the price, that was the good part. I have put this on two rifles and used two sets of rings and this thing will not hold zero. I have not been able to sight this in and come back to the range the next time with a rifle that hits steel at 100yds. It is pure junk. I won't even sell this to anyone, it just goes in the trash. First and last Simmons I'll ever buy.

If the scope was two ...

If the scope was two hundred dollars I would rate it at the most three and a half stars, however the quality of the optics far exceeds my expectations of a 50$ scope. On the 9x magnification some very minor image aberration (hard to notice - very clear otherwise), but nothing that would affect a shot. I mounted this on a standard taper 308 barrel for my Encore using Leupold High Rings and a Leupold mount (about .25" with scope covers).

This is my fourth simmons scope that I have bought. I put this one on my 30/30 because of the bold cross hair which really stands out against back ground brush. Really bright in low light. Very pleased with it!!!

This is a lot better scope than the Bushnell 3-9 Sportsman scope that comes standard on the Remington 710, for the money. This scope did not have grease smeared all over the lenses when viewed through the scope at 3 power. I have this scope on a model 710 in .270 and have never had to re-zero the rifle. I absolutely love it. Plus you can't beat the quality.
