This is a MIL-STD-1913 picatinny base. I had no problem with dimensional check-fit. I worked with Warne personnel in selecting base and rings for my Savage .308 12 F/TR. Rings can be returned directly to Warne and exchanged for correct base stand-off if required. Medium tactical fixed rings provide Leupold competition scope bell clearance and adequate eye relief. Went on a Savage 10 FCP HS PRecision mounting Warne permanent Tactical rings to a 30 mm Millett fixed 10. Have only tried it out to 300 yards, but doing what it's supposed to do. Wanted a plus 20 so I would not be dialing this thing much...rather use hold over throgh the mil dot-bar reticle. Super happy with both rings and mount.

I mounted the base on a Savage 12 FV .223 with ease. The forward mounting screw was full length so even though the base is thinner at the front, it fit perfectly. I have purchased other 20 MOA bases that provided a shorter forward mounting screw and worried about stripping the screw. I regularly shoot at 600 yards with a Leupold 6-20 long range Mark 3 with adjustment to stretch to 1000 yard gong shooting. I am happy with the base and MidwayUSA.

The "Picatinny-Style" ...

The "Picatinny-Style" does not exactly meet the Mil-Spec 1913 standards. This was assumed on my part, and it was an incorrect assumption.After consulting the micrometer, I'd have to say that the flaw is in the overall too narrow width of the rail sections at the widest point which therefor causes the 45 degree angles to terminate at a shorter distance. In other words, the Warne is just slightly more narrow than it ought to be. It is out of spec enough that my LaRue Tactical LT-104 mount must be adjusted in such a way that it is not interchangeable with the 1913 rails on my other weapons such as an AR-10 or an AR-15 without readjustment. And the LT-104 is specifically designed to not require adjustment once it's set. Simple interchangeability with other 20 MOA 1913 rail equipped weapons using minimal adjustment was a primary goal of the project that I am working on. So I'm a little disappointed.Overall though, aside from my particular 1913 snobbishness, this is an excellent product so long as you understand that it's not within 1913 specs. Fit and finish is wonderful.

This $100+ 20-degree ...

This $100+ 20-degree 1-piece Warne picatinny rail was drilled for mounting screws 1/16" off and couldn't mount to my Savage 12 .223 *at all*. Poor QC, I did better work in High School - Thank God for Midway USA, they accepted the return & sent out a replacement pronto - Thanks!! But I'll use another Manufacturer's product next time.
