They may not be perfect ...

They may not be perfect -tapered shanks don't work well for many gunsmithing applications-, but they're a good tool, backed by an even better guarantee. After I broke a screw driver by using it as a pry-bar, Grace had a replacement on its way to me, within 24 hours. I even told them what I had done, but they replaced the driver at their cost.

This isn't what I would call a gunsmith screwdriver set. They have the angled sides that won't fit in a hole and the tip has been ground about 1/8" to make them parallel. These are what I would use around the house with the tips ground parallel. Buy the S&W or Pachmyr sets if you want real gunsmith's screwdrivers. They are nice, but not really what I want to use on my guns.

Individually I would have rated 5 stars except the smaller head screwdrivers have a very thin shaft. They are tough and resist damage but the screws on a single action Ruger required the 3rd smallest screwdriver. The thin shaft and small handle reduced the amount of torque you can exert on the screw. The tool can handle way more than you can put to it but the design of this one made it difficult. Although this might seem petty, this is a set for guns. The other screw drivers in the set seem to work and be just what you need. Tips are ground to perfection and very tough. I am glad they decided not to make the tips magnetic. Those always seem to make it difficult to keep the screws in place when working in tight places. The wood handles are plus and look authentic on my gun cart for cowboy action shooting. I would buy this again.

This is an update to my previous comments - I got excellent customer service from Grace USA - they DO make custom sets for Marlin and Win leverguns. Too bad they're not offered at Midway (yet) but Dan at Grace took great care of my situation.

I've tried several of the sets of this brand of screwdriver and have not yet found a single blade that fits a screw on a S&W Revolver. Well one did fit the top screw of a rear sight mount, but when I tried to remove the screw, the screwdriver blade tip broke off right at the point where the straight grind meets the angle grind. We're talking about a tiny screw here, not cranking 100lb-ft of torque on it.I'm beginning to wonder if anybody makes quality gunsmith screwdrivers any more or whether I need to go back to buying Snap-On and Craftsman pieces and grinding my own tips again.

These are quality tools, ...

These are quality tools, and I like the comfort and traditional cachet. However, this set seems oversize for my guns, which aren't rare (Win 94, Marlin 336 and 94). The only blade that fits my screw slots is the second smallest, and it's quite narrow. I may have bought the wrong set, I would like to see a matched set for these models. The company does offer custom sizes and other sets but I would like to be able to use more than 2 of the 8 screwdrivers in this set. There's no information on sizes before buying.
