Simply lift out the entire turret and replace with an extra turret (sold separately) set up in a different caliber. Well I have had my 4 hole turret press with auto indexing and deluxe reloading kit now for about a year. I love it I reload shells for my 45/70 and my 30/30. The part that is really great is in a matter of seconds you can go from one cal to another by getting an extra turret. Just set the turrets up with your favorite cals and all you have to do is rotate and lift it out and drop the next one in and you are ready to start on the next cal. The scale is a little sensitive but when you are working with minute particles this is to be expected. Once set though it will weigh the same every time. The auto disk powder measure takes a little time fine tuning and with the purchase of extra disks and the extension kit it drops within 1/10 of a grain or less of your initial setting every time. The primer pocket cleaner, cutter and lockstud and chamfer tools all work reasonably well. What I really like the most about this press is that I can disconnect the auto indexing and perform batch jobs one step at a time. Like deprime a whole batch of shells and then relube and resize them all and then load them all with powder and so on until they are ready to shoot. I have put 500 45/70 and 1000 30/30 shells through this press and it works like it was new yesterday. This kit is well worth more than what they sell it for and for the most part is simple to maintain and adjust.

I already had a single stage press when I bought this kit, trying to "automize" the reloading process. I found I was taking the brass out of press after depriming/ sizing to check the length, cut and chamfer before priming. I can do those steps on the single-stage press so I didn't need a 4-hole press when 3-holes would do. Next, the auto-indexing is iffy, I generally check the positioning before each stage. I imagine manual would be about as fast. Now about the accessories -- The auto-disk powder measure needs to be removed to change disks, and the device didn't clear the bullet seating die. I had to order a riser, and wait for delivery. Then, if the Safety scale is accurate, my autodisk powder measure isn't. I test the powder measure output on the scale to find a disk that gives me the appropriate load. I will get an electronic scale to verify which it is. Word to the wise, no matter what Lee says, the safety primer doesn't work on my press with the aut0-disk, even with the riser, the powder measure doesn't clear the primer assembly.

I purchased one of this way back in late 2007. A friend of mine set-up the whole thing. I practically learned about reloading pistol ammunition in about 20 minutes or so. I could not say anything about other reloading companies about their products. This Turret press is the simply the easiest I've ever used. Self-explanatory and so simple to use. I make about 100 rounds in a hour. Any caliber, 9mm, 40 S & W, 10mm, 45 auto, 38 Special and .44 Magnum. The prize is also very competitive. It's hard to beat for what you need. You can also pass this reloading equipment to your kids.

I received this kit as a present for christmas because I had really wanted to get into reloading. I had done a lot of research online talking to people and everyone said lee turret press's are the best. So this is the one finially got into really using this press and really really like it. There are a lot of pros and some cons. The pros: Love not having to reset every die every stage. I have an extra turret for every caliber. The fact that each stage is all in one turret. You can take an empty case from start to finish. Over all the quality of the product is great. Some cons and this is just some minor things that shouldnt stop anyone from buying this press but just some things to know. One sometimes while turning to the next die it does not always line up and you just have to rotate the turret alittle. Some times the primer installer gets stuck up inside the ram and will fall out and hit the floor. So its not 100% perfect but it is a wonderful press and for a starter like me whos looking for a good press to knock out a lot of plinking rounds this is your press. If I was going to be making really high performance percision ammo I will get a single stage a lot less movement in the dies. In the turret when the shell goes into the die the turret pushes up just a hair. I feel for high quality percision ammo that would make a differance. So over all 4 stars because there are some cons but nothing that makes me feel bad for getting this press and I will use it till int breaks in 2 haha.

As a good student, I reviewed Lee's videos online before buying this. It's a shame that the product they ship now does not match the product shown in the videos. In order to accommodate the safety prime feeder, they rotated the ram slightly, and the primer arm appears off-center. Their help video shows you how to adjust the ram so that it is centered!The square locknut that holds the top of the index rod was run all the way onto the rod, so that when trying to adjust the indexing per instructions, it was impossible to turn the rod while holding the turret. Being a mechanical engineer is helpful in using Lee products, but it does seem that they could produce products that match the documentation?I suspect that after a few hundred rounds, the machine will wear in and can be adjusted to operate reliably. Right now, there needs to be high vigilance to ensure that the turret really goes to the right place (even after adjusting it). I've had a couple of instances when the turret was almost in the right place, and the clack of unyielding metal on metal was the alarm sound.Shipping the press without the powder riser is sinful! It's impossible to use the safety primer feed without banging it every time the machine increments.I'm sure that I'll run the rating up to three or four stars after a while of using it, but darn it, why can't somebody with lee's reputation ship a product that deserves the name?

This kit needs the auto disk riser, dies (caliber specific), trimming length gauge (caliber specific), and the Lee safety primer to function as I expected it to work. I have no problem buying the additional items. Statement on side of box is very misleading. Makes me think all I need is a set of dies. "THIS KIT AND A SET OF LEE DIES contains everything you need to load your own ammunition" yes de-priming and re-sizing 1st, then weighing each charge by hand using the scale and filling the case 2nd,( no need for auto-disk powder measure why include it ), put back in press and press in bullet 3rd. Not what I consider "Deluxe" why buy a auto indexing press to use it as a single stage press ? After purchasing the needed parts it's a GREAT auto indexing press! Just wish I new what to order first time.

I am so happy with this press! I was on the fence between this and a progressive but I'm glad I bought this one. It is easy to do batch jobs, so that I can de-prime all my brass first, which allows me to clean the primer pockets. On a progressive that would be a bit tougher. With this I find that because the brass stays in front of you it's very easy to make adjustments to the process as you go.I'm extremely happy with the quality and workmanship, the overall design is very clever and everything works as it should with very little in the way of setup, it really was quite easy to start cranking out ammo. I've been able to load far more than I can use so far, and am trying to get some buddies to go shooting just so that I'll be able to make more ammo. It's actually as much fun to make as it is to shoot. I've got ammo cans full of .223 and .45 after just a few hours in the garage. If you are thinking of reloading, go for it, and get this press, you can't go wrong for the price!

I've loaded about 3000 rounds with mine. Easy to change calibers. Works great for .45 ACP, .45 LC, and .454 Casull. My only complaint is when loading for 45/70, I can only size, prime, and charge. I have to seat and crimp with a Lee hand press.

So far so good. I like this press. From the time I opened the box till I was ready to reload was about a hour. This is not too hard to set up. Got it mounted to the bench, dies set, and powder dropping the right charge pretty easily. I got the small and large safety prime tool kit, works great till the last two or three primers. To fix this, add primers. Powder drop is good. I noticed a .3 swing on checked powder charges. I got two of the risers for the powder through die. Its worth it, powder holder and primer tool never touch. I loaded 100 round in no time. The plus over a progressive loader is there's not much to go wrong, missed primer and so on, and you can change to pretty much any caliber you want on a turret. All in all I like this press.

This press is somewhat finicky, and takes getting used to. The ram not lining up with the dies is somewhat normal, and the turret must be synchronized. There is a video on Lee's web site, but you just hold the index rod with a adjustable wrench and twist the turret until its aligned. This should be close enough for most replacement turrets, which do require a break in period before auto index will work. The nylon square used in the ratchet will warp if you dont run the turrets about 50 complete turns by hand.

I have owned the three hole turret for over 20 years and it is still going strong. I have had to replace a few minor parts over the years but this press is simple to use and other than die adjustments it ready to use. I really did not like the priming system and tried other tools for priming such as the lee ram prime but I prefer to use the Lee Auto prime It gives me a better feel for seating primers. I do wish the Perfect powder measure could be mounted on the powder die( for 223 loading) instead of the disk system. I think this is a fantastic tool and have recently up graded to 3 Pro 1000's but I still love the turret press. I also have recommended it as a starter press for those that get involved with reloading. Hard to find a press this good for the price.
