Iosso Brass Case Cleaner is a quick and easy liquid brass cleaner that removes fouling, tarnish, oil and grime from cases leaving brass bright and clean. A simple immersion in the liquid, a quick rinse and dry is all that is needed.

Technical Information

Directions for Use: Immerse the brass in the solution for 20 seconds up to five minutes, rinse and dry.
Size: 1 Gallon

Notes:

Effectively removes powder fouling residue, oxidation, tarnish, discoloration, dirt, and grime.

Restores brass casings to a bright finish in seconds.

Cleans the inside of the casings and the primer pocket.

A quart of cleaner cleans approximately two thousand cases depending upon the degree of tarnish and residue.

I wanted to like the ...

I wanted to like the IOSSO case cleaner, and it does work as advertised. It quickly removes surface tarnish from brass cases. I tried three different types of cases with different calibers and different amounts of oxidation and it did a pretty good job on all of them, but none of them looked as nice as tumbling with crushed walnut shell and case polishing compound, however they were acceptably clean on the outside. IOSSO does not clean burned powder residue from inside the cases very well, nor will it clean out primer pockets like tumbling will. The IOSSO is a chemical reduction process that reverses oxidation, while tumbling is a physical process that tends to do a more general cleaning. For me, the time saved with the IOSSO chemical process instead of tumbling was more than offset by having to wait for the wet cases to dry thoroughly inside, and the wet cases oxidize a little as they dry. The IOSSO drying time made 4-8 hours of tumbling the faster way to clean cases, and tumbling is cheaper, too. If you want a chemical brass cleaner, IOSSO is good, but overall, I think tumbling is still the better method of cleaning cases. I have a covered plastic storage container full of IOSSO on my shelf that I haven't used since trying it several months ago, while my little tumbler has been running nonstop the last three days cleaning a huge load of used military brass I just bought.

I usually use the Iosso Cleaner on cases after the initial corn media cleaning. brings back a good "brassy" color especially on old, darkened cases. This usually cuts out the hour or so tumble to restore color and/or remove lube. in about 10-15 seconds cases are again that brassy color. You must be sure to wash off all the cleaner and let the brass dry well before polishing.

I don't have a clue as to where these other good reviews came from, but I found this product to be horrible. It blushed the brass terribly ( turned it pink due to pulling the zinc from the brass ). It took a buffing wheel and tumbling media to clean up the mess left by this cleaner.

A few seconds in this stuff and all the brass is clean, both the inside and out, then just wash it off and you good to go. I love it and will not go back it other cleaner.

I have been reloading for years just recently tried this product the only regret I have is not trying it sooner I preclean cases with Iosso case cleaner, then once cases are rinsed and dried throw them in my tumbler with corn cob media cases come out looking brand new including the primer pockets. Outstanding product.

This case cleaner is a excellent product, it performance is fast and reliable. Some tips rinse with hot water and dry the cartridges with a hair blower and it take about only a total of 8 minutes the whole process.

What's the hurry?I will never abandon my tumbler. That said, I tumble using fine walnut shells with some Flitz tumbler media additive for about two hours, air hose the cases to remove any debris then soak them in Iosso for a few minutes. Rinse, air hose dry, then tumble again.I use to sort my cases by the amount of discoloration but, not anymore. The Iosso makes every case look almost new.I've completed this process on thousands of cases of 5.56 Lake City using about a quart of Iosso and it's still going strong.I add enough new Iosso to replace the bit lost in the process and it still retains color and sufficient potency.As it ages, it does take a minute or two longer to reach the same luster but, why throw away something that still does an excellent job?Iosso has become an indispensible reloading component in this house.

I figured I'd give this a try before I invested in a new tumbler. I can happily say that a tumbler is a complete waste of money and time if you use this case cleaner! This stuff works VERY fast and gets the dirtiest cases clean in only a few minutes. I had some seriously tarnished 308 cases and it got them looking like new in under 3 minutes! I rubbed the necks with my fingers as I rinsed and that was all it took to get the necks spotless! I used about a quart of it to clean 10 batches of about 50 pieces of assorted brass at a time (500+) cases in under 30 minutes. Left them in the sun on the deck to dry and they were ready to go in about an hour! AMAZING STUFF

Great results without the need for tumbling. Case necks may require a bit of extra work but a piece of steel wool and a few minutes before cleaning will make cases look like new. This product is immediately effective on Copper Tarnish. Old copper jacket bullets dipped into this material will look new in seconds. A fast rinse in plain water after use, dry and your ready to load or molly coat. Use only enough to cover cases or bullets and reuse, dont mix with unused, it will weaken the new stuff.
