The bullet that started the company, Nosler Partition Bullets feature a fully tapered jacket that ruptures instantly at the thin jacket mouth, yet the gradual thickening along the bullet's axis controls expansion and curls the jacket uniformly outward at high or low velocities.

Nosler's integral Partition supports the expanded mushroom and retains the rear lead alloy core. The enclosed rear core retains more than half the original bullet weight for deep penetration. The special crimp locks in the rear core section, adding strength to resist deformation under the pressure of heavy magnums. This is not loaded ammunition.

Only one thing to say for this bullet,"Dead Reliable." I have used it over the years in Colorado, in a .300 Win., to take 3 bull elk and numerous mule deer. It has performed flawlessly on 20 to 500 yard shots, always expanding reliably and staying intact with excellent penetration.

I have had very bad experiences with this bullet shoots paper just fine but shooting it out of my two 300 ultras it would not hold together for me on big mule deer shot one quartering away at 75 yard bullet entered right ham jacket only penetrated 3 inches before loosing both cores needless to say broke three legs one shot and no vitals hit had to walk up and neck shoot in my ultras I now only shoot bonded bullets or triple shocks

This is my elk bullet!

This is the only bullet I will use for elk. I shoot a Win. 300 Mag and rarely recover a bullet as they penetrate completely. Have not had to track a wounded animal while using these bullets, all have been one shot kills.

I have found groups with partition 1/2" worse than Nosler Accubonds, Hornady SST, & Remington Accutips. However, they shoot well & never a problem with performance on whitetail-sized animals. Good penetration & internal devastation. My second choice bullet, behind Nosler Accubonds.

Got a good midsized bull ...

Got a good midsized bull moose this year 09-2011 using this bullet with my new browning x-bolt chambered for a .308 Winchester. I dropped it in 2 shots. 1st shot was at approx 75 yards I placed the crosshair behind the shoulder, it ran a few yards, once it went broadside again I shot again lil above the shoulders and it dropped instantly. I didnt recover both bullets but it went through both lungs and entrance wound was very small, exit was size of a dime. Min meat damage. I used a Remington cases, federal 210 match primers max charge of IMR 4350 powder according to Nosler's 6th reloading handbook, which produced less than 1/4 inch groups at 100 yds on a leadsled rest. My friend gave me feedback on the same recipe said he got the same results. This is my go to go to big Alaskan game bullet for my .308 and 30-06!

I know everybody loves these and they have been made for a long time but I can't get them to shoot. Average groups are a little less than 3". I can get Hornadys under an inch. With these bullets you have at most a 200 yard gun under ideal conditions. Why use a 30/06? Use a 30-30. I suppose the partitions would be ok for short range woods work for moose etc.

I hand load for a crew of ...

I hand load for a crew of 7 hunters. One hunter shoots a 300 Win mag. He has 4 bulls with this bullet. Three good shots and 3 bulls were down within 20 yards. One angle shot running away at 120 yards through the gut, and out the front far leg. This bull made it 42 of my large steps. Approximately 42 yards. This is the only custom bullet I like. The front half of the bullet does a lot of damage to the engine room, and the back half goes through the elk. IMR 4831 shoots 7/8 groups out of his custom 300 mag. This is a great elk bullet.

This is an awesome bullet loaded in my 308 and 30-06. I use both 180 and 200 partition on moose with both calibers. One shot with both loads. I haven't recovered the bullets yet been re-loading ammunition for 4 years, and those are the two calibers I been using on moose for 15 years, my father has been using the 30-06 for 57 years. Mainly with 180 and 220 grain round nose bullets.

Very accurate for me in .30-06. I loaded these over Ramshot Hunter (per Nosler manual). I shot these out of 4 different .30-06 rifles. ALL gave 100 yard 3-shot groups under one inch. Have not yet used on game, but I think I found my bear load.

Absolutely amazing! I'm shooting a Weatherby Mark V Ultra Lightweight in .308 Winchester. That rifle has a relatively long throat, which allows me to run heavy bullets at longer C.O.L.'s. I'm at a max load with IMR 4064 (2718 F.P.S. Published), a C.O.L. that is .052in. over SAAMI maximum, and I am getting 1 MOA accuracy on my first three shots from a cold clean bore. In my rifle, a C.O.L. 50 thousandths over SAAMI max with this bullet, still keeps me about 60 thousandths off the lands. My second three shot group checks in just over a 1/2in. at 100 yds! Consecutive groups also check in just over a 1/2in. at 100 yds. Clearly that load seems to shoot better with a fouled barrel as opposed to a Cold and Clean barrel; but even if you are cold and clean, you should be plenty accurate for 350 yard shots on 600lb. game. I have yet to take any animal with that load, but based on everything I've read (and heard), it should be more than enough for just about anything in North America. Hopefully, I will have a big update come November after my Oregon Elk Hunt. So, in conclusion I would say, buy this bullet, take it hunting, and KNOCK THAT ANIMAL DOWN!

Incredible round! Every animal I have ever shot with my .300 Wby has acted like Thor's hammer pounded it. The 180gr Nosler Partition is my go to round for almost everything. In my Wby stainless it shoots 3-leaf clovers consistently. Amazing gun and ammo. Big hogs up to 400lbs in Texas no problem. Big mulies...no problem. Black bear. This gun and me have done it all. The performance was incredible. Partitions must put up with violet 3000+fps impacts at 50yds and still be soft enough to open up and mushroom at 300+ yards. That's allot ask from a bullet! Partitions are my choice and as long as my guns shoot them well, they will continue to do so. Hunt hard and enjoy the outdoors my friends!
