Product Information

With an aggressive non-slip, "toothed" and vented muzzle attachment, the Mossberg Stand-Off barrel was designed for use by military and law enforcement to take out knobs, locks, and hinges with door breaching ammunition. The breaching attachment is permanently attached giving the barrel an 18.5" length.

Great Barrel!!! I was a little weary of putting a Mossberg Barrel on a Remington, but all I can say; it's a first rate barrel with a great finish. Looks better than the original (870 express).

I was looking to build a hog killer that I could handle better from my truck. The ATI folding stock with pitanny forend for tactical light & this barrel is a winner with 00 buckshot, but you need to be no further than 30 yds. The only drawback is the muzzle brake's teeth grab the soft gun case interior so it won't slide in.

Overall I am pleased with the barrel. It certainly gets the job done, not to mention It looks meaner than all get out. And the teeth on the break are sharp. I have to agree with an earlier post though about the bead. This barrel comes with a cheap one. Initially I was fine with this but later realized Id really like to have a tritium one, which can be expensive. When I saw that there is another 18 inch barrel offered for this gun that has tritium sights and is 10 dollars cheaper I was not happy. No negative feelings toward Midway, they are great. I just think that Mossberg should have gone the extra step of putting the tritium bead on as their competition offers a similar barrel , with tritium sights, for less money. The only difference in the two barrels is the absence of the crenellated breacher brake on the other barrel I mentioned.

Barrel is great. Fits perfect on my 870 supermagnum. Easy to install as a factory barrel, breacher is cool, even if not particularly useful to the average person. 4 stars because you wont be able to add mag extention that clips onto barrel.

An excellent replacement barrel for the 870 Express. The only 18" barrel to my knowledge that has a breacher muzzle for the non-rifled Express model. Parkerized finish is consistent with the original 18" barrel from Remington.

Was looking for a barrel for self-defense applications, the specifications for this barrel show it is only about 16 inches in length with the permanently attached muzzle-break/breacher making up the rest of the length. The assumption was a shorter barrel length should spread out the shot pattern faster, which would work better for short-distance self-defense applications, pattern spread size not tested yet. Remington also makes a breacher attachment, but only as a choke tube, which increases barrel length, not ideal for close quarters. While not intending to breach any doors, this attachment is robust and intimidating, it could be used as a secondary defensive weapon, it is very, very stout. Barrel fit the 870 perfectly. The only low point I noted was the cheap bead sight, plastic and loose. Have already replaced it with a metal bead. Would recommend and buy again.
