I shot a moose at 75 ...

I shot a moose at 75 yards with this bullet using a max load of Varget. I hit him in the neck, just under the throat, and it broke its neck. Because of the angle of the moose's neck the bullet deflected downward, went through over 3 feet of moose, and ended up in the lower portion of the ribcage. One shot was all that was needed, and very accurate.

These bullets work great in my marlin 1895g 45/70. even with the short barrel, I can get moa performance with them, and they make the most beautiful mushroom upon impact. Mine retained 336 of the 350 grains when retrieved. You would have to look hard to find a better bullet.

This is my favorite bullet for my NEF .45-70. I have them loaded up to Level II loads, designed for the lever action rifles. The NEF can take it. At 2060 avg fps with H350, it drops about 11" at 200 yards. That's almost a 200 yard PBR. That's not too bad! Oh, and with Ghost rings, I can hang a 1.5" group at 100 yards.

Shot a moose broadside with a 1885 45-70 at 80 yds.in Maine 2004, full penetration, did not recover slug,2000 fps, very accurate. What more can you ask for.

Very very accurate bullet. In my .458 Mag. with H4198 I can keep all shots touching at 50 yrds. I am very impressed with this bullet and it's accuracy in this larger caliber. I keep plenty on hand.

I shoot this bullet in my .45-70 Marlin 1895ss, for elk hunting. I've taken four elk with this round and it is a real stopper. Great for the heavy timber and brush.

I max load these for the .458 Lott. They are real thumpers. I've only "killed" plastic milk jugs and sand-filled boxes, but they function and shoot great in my Ruger M77. I've recovered some in sand and they look very similar to the 500gr round nose. Some have mushroomed to 2x their size. I will try these in the .450 Marlin guide gun soon. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent bullet. Out of a Rem 700 Safari KS in 458 Win Mag I constantly get 1" groups using IMR 4198 with this bullet.

I loaded this bullet to 1900 fps in my 1895 Marlin (22" micro groove bbl) using IMR 4198. I managed a 1" group from a bench rest and recoil was not unbearable. I've tried several loads and it was nice to finally find something the gun liked. UPDATED 9/18/2009: I took an 11 point buck in Oklahoma with this bullet from my Marlin 1895. Round hit him square in the throat at 100 yds and dropped him in his shadow. The bullet exited between shoulder blades, shattering all bones in its path, but damaging very little meat. Bullet was accurate and delivered deadly performance right when I needed it most!
