I bought a Winchester ...

I bought a Winchester Ranger Angle Eject for a rainy-day brush gun to hunt whitetails in the Adirondacks. The "American Hardwood" stock was pretty ugly and would only get scratched up bigtime while still hunting the hemlock swamps, but I had planned on replacing it with the Ram-Line stock. It was easy to install as the fit was great. It seemed a little short for me so I added a "grind to fit" recoil pad to lengthen the pull along with an old 1-4 Redfield I wasn't using. The weight of the scope helps to offset the lightness of the buttstock and bring the balance back so the gun isn't too muzzle heavy. This is one stock that will take a beating.

If you are looking for a stock for a .357, you will have to hog out the barrel channel a lot. I had to thin the outside of the forearm a little to get a smooth fit of the band. I could have hogged out the barrel channel a little more, but was not comfortable with removing any more material than I had to. The butt is not inletted for the safety found on newer models, and will need to be fitted. This information really should be included with the product description. Overall, the quality of the product is acceptable. Fit of parts after inletting was good.

Garbage! I knew this ...

Garbage! I knew this stock would not "drop in" after reading the earlier reviews. But I figured it would be easy to fit. Wrong! I got the fore end and the top tang pretty easy but the bottom tang is so far off there is no way i'm going to file that much off. The tang has an angle to it, the slot in the stock is straight, and so tight that the narrowest end of the tang will not fit into the slot. Total waste of money.

I just got this product, ...

I just got this product, and the fit was a nightmare. first off the forearm stock holes were not drilled all the way through. second the butt stock took a dremel tool and about one hour work to get it to fit right. I expected more from a usa company like ram line this fit like it was made in china.

I had the stock installed by a gunsmith on a pre-64 Winchester 94, who reported exactly the same fitment issues noted in another review. Once fitted and finished with Duracoat, though, it looks great and overall balance is excellent.

I installed the stock and ...

I installed the stock and forearm on my Pre '64 Model 94. I was able to get the stock on after grinding some plastic off, it still doesn't fit very well, has some gaps. (not because of my grinding) The forearm fits well except for the hole drilled through it for the band screw is drilled a little too High. It does make the gun noticeable lighter and still surprisingly balanced.

I bought this product so ...

I bought this product so I could stop worrying about banging up the nice wood on my Trapper in 45 Colt, and enjoy shooting it! The buttstock fit nicely, tight like it should be. But the forearm is apparently made for a .30 caliber barrel, and would not go on the .45 barrel without considerable work. A Dremel router bit in a drill press did the job, but a person without tools and skills might be up a stump! With that caveat, I am very pleased with the product. I have two other Ram-Line stocks which give good service under hard usage.
