Stainless Steel Media is designed to clean brass inside and out to give a like new look. Unlike conventional corn cob or walnut media, stainless media does not create dust and also cleans the inside of the cases, primer pockets and flash holes. Stainless media will not damage brass and does not require replacement after multiple uses. This media is designed to be used in a water tight rotary tumbler along with water and cleaning solution.

Pros and Cons just like most anything...

Pros - gets brass SUPER SUPER clean! Never have to replace, although every time I use them, it seems I drop a few pins, and don't wanna sift thru dirt to find them, eventually I'll need some more, but not for a very long time. Works great for Stainless steel silencer parts as well as brass.

Cons - Lemishine is a must, without it, brass just don't clean right, can't do super large batches. Every batch there are some pins that get clogged inside the flash hole on 556 brass. Seems if they were just a few thou bigger in diameter, it would remedy that.

I have to use a powerful rare earth magnet to locate the clogged holes while drying the brass, not a big deal, but takes some concentration or else they muck up your reloading. If I didn't have to do this the pins would have easily earned 4 or 5 stars.

Overall I am very pleased, and I have used this method of wet tumbling for all of my bottleneck case cleaning. I only gave 3 stars, because I still use my dry tumbler for the first step in the cleaning/loading process. After dry tumble, it's lube up, resize/deprime, trim, then a wet tumble for a finish clean. Then reload. It's an extra step, but again, the brass ends up beautiful inside and out, and I knew this going in.

I haven't used it for strait wall pistol cases because I do those in bulk, but I figure it would work just fine. Hope this helps.

My contribution to the reviews is this; no one addresses recovery of the pellets post-tumbling. My solution was a trip to Home Depot's paint dept. for a paint strainer mesh cloth. Found a fine mesh strainer cloth with an elastic top that stretches over a 5 gallon bucket, about 3 bucks for a 2-pack. I use it with my older Dillon media separator which has a bucket, unfortunately theirs is square now but the Frankford Arsenal separator uses a bucket. Works great and loses no pellets plus just rinse the pellets through the mesh and good to go for next batch of cases.

I'm not one for writing reviews, so I'll make an exception this time. These pellets are the best investment I've ever made. I, like all the other reviewers on here have a Thumlers Tumbler model B, I've used treated crushed corncob, and crushed walnut to clean brass, with moderate results. These pins work the best for a one step cleaning process, never have I ever seen so much dirt wash out of a load of brass, cleans the inside of the shell, and the primer pockets. I like to keep rifle brass down to about 100 rds. per polishing, and about 300 rds. for pistol brass, the nastier looking brass may have to tumble for about 8 hrs., but it comes clean like brand new. Great product!! I don't think I'll ever buy what I was using before to clean brass. There is only one draw back, these pins are low grade stainless, they are magnetic, it has to be dried also before putting it away.

Had an old RCBS sidewinder tumbler just sitting around so I thought what the heck.I'm here to tell you it doesn't get any better than this,makes old nasty brass look like new inside and out and the best part no more lead dust to worry about it goes right down the drain.

These pins in a Thumler's Tumbler are tops for cleaning brass cases inside and out. I had a few problems at first because I used some old cleaning lquid and used a lot less water than recommended. Use Dawn dish liquid and fill the drum. Also, if you're using soft water the recommended Lemi-Shine is not necessary.

I already had a Thumblers ...

I already had a Thumblers tumbler model B but using crush walnut for cleaning. I saw this product on You tube. Got it fast and it came within 3 days of my order. Tried about 150 of already cleaned brass but not on the inside and primer pockets still dirty. After 3 hours in the tumbler it came out like it was new and the inside was also very shiny and primer pockets was clean. This is the best investment I made for my reloading hobby. The only downside is the initial cost of the Thumblers tumbler but Beats buying polish and other media to replace...

Have used this for about a year and love it. I use in a Thumbler's Model B with three drums. Be careful about mixing shell sizes, the media can jam between cases if they fit inside each other and is impossible to separate. That is why I use three drums.[Use two small at the same time with different size shells. Threw away about a dozen ruined cases trying to pry them apart. I Will not clean any other way from now on, inside and out they look like new. Even old range brass returns to new looking. Gave away my corn cob tumbler and havent looked back!! [PS Corn cob/walnut tumbling creates lead dust from primers.]
