For the money it worked as advertised. Used it on a .338 magnum. Used the provided sight in target and was 3 inches from bullseye at 100 yards. My only gripe is the on/off button. It works every time but is hard to get into the on position. Overall I would recommend this product.

I'll give it a 3 because ...

I'll give it a 3 because it's not totally bad and it's not exactly great. It has poor instructions but if anyone has ever watched how boresighters work/are used, people should be able to figure out how to use the attachments used to put down the muzzle. This does not do well in bright light but the instructions state this. Too bad the sales info. on websites don't provide this type of info. I've successfully used this with the following rifles - all got me on paper at 50 yards: .22, .30-30, .30-06, 7.62*54, .40 S&W, .338 Win. mag. By the way, if you have scopes that don't zero in at less than 200 yards, don't bother with this.

I used this on several guns at 25 yards and the thing was way off, the problem with this is that it does not fit the muzzle well enough so it is not stable enough to give you a good reading. It moves around to much when trying to sight it in and gives you a different reading every time you look down the scope to adjust it.

Save your money. This ...

Save your money. This item is so sloppy in use as to be of little value. The narrow rod end of this boresight device fits into the muzzle of your firearm and the thick end projects a laser dot on a paper target. You can then theoretically adjust your sights or scope until they coincide with the laser dot. Simple, eh? The problem is that the device fits poorly in the muzzle and uses adapters for a tighter fit. This does not work well in practice and the results may vary significantly from use to use. In other words, if you calibrate your sights or scope with this device, remove and reinsert it, the variation may be substantially different, i.e., you will not be on target and need to start over again. So if you go to the range, your rounds may not even be on the paper if you are shooting at 50 meters or more. This type of device is supposed to help you get on target, but its fit is so imprecise that you will not be able to rely on it. Spend a few bucks more and get the type that fits only one caliber. Such devices may rest in the muzzle or chamber, but are generally adequate to get your first rounds on target.

Paid too much for what I feel is a piece of junk. First time I used it the threads on body got stripped so bad I couldn't open it again. Threw it is the trash. I'll not make a mistake of buying another.

Purchased it 4 months ago, used it on several pistols and one rifle, no problems until the spring on the back of the laser head slid into the hole on the front of the battery. Totally screwed up the spring which is needed to apply pressure on the internal switch, rendered the thing useless.

Laser beam was not zeroed out of the package. I contacted Bushnell to advise them of the problem and a replacement is being shipped to my local store for exchange. That is good, but it should have been right out of the package.

This worked great the ...

This worked great the first time I used it. I put it away and a year later it did not work. I got new batteries and the laser still did not turn on. I tested the batteries with a meter and they are proper voltage. So it doesn't work and I don't know why. I will be contacting the company to see if they can help with this. It's over a year old but has been stored indoors in its case. I would give it a 5 star rating if it did not die for no apparent reason but reliability is part of the rating equation.

I have 2 borsighters. ...

I have 2 borsighters. Both are subpar. One came with an almost dead battery. The other came with a great battery. Both are cross-eyed. That is, the laser beam does not project in line to the bore. Turn the boresighter and the laser beam travels around in a circle.

You get what you pay for. The hex head screws that mount the arbors to the main unit are made of soft metal, and the heads strips easily. Also, the zero in my unit was off, and 3 of the 4 adjustment screws appear to have been lock-tighted. They stripped almost immediately when trying to adjust the zero.

I purchased the Bushnell Laser bore sighter to help sight in a new scope. I used it at a range of about 30 feet and zeroed my scope. At the range I was 1 inch off at 50 yds. You can't ask for better than that. I ran a check on some other guns that were already sighted and they were all very close with the dot right on the crosshairs. The only negative I found was the allen wrench that is enclosed was the wrong size. Since I had one that fit it was no big problem.
