I've always been a big fan of the front sight on my M1 Garand and wished I had a similar sight for my Mini-14. This combo front sight and muzzle brake is perfect and fits the bill. The instruction are clear and I was able to remove the old front sight and install this new in about 20 minutes. The new pin to keep it in place is a little too long so I had to cut it off to fit. This is better than having a pin which is too short in my opinion. The new sight picture is great and I feel it gives the rifle a much improved look. The new mini-14s from Ruger are now also sporting the same type of military front sight with protective wings. A great upgrade for any Mini-14.

Great product: Much better front sight than the factory front sight. I had a friend put it on and he said it went on very easy, that the hardest part was getting the old sight off.

I had already removed the original front sight in preparation of receiving this one. The total time it took to install tonight was about 1 hour. That included drilling out the holes and finishing it up with a little blue touchup and buffing. The look is awesome compared to the original sight. If you are building out your ranch rifle to look like an assault rifle, this is a must have. If you don't have the tools to level the sight and square it up, don't attempt this install by yourself.

Bought this product for my '05 standard mini-14. Really does improve the profile of your gun and is efficent in hiding the muzzle flash. Drill the roll pin holes straight and it will fit tight and never come off. The only problem I have is the sight blade is way too thin and to high (you could file it down) making the sight picture impossible. Solved the issue by installing a Millett red dot sight!

This is the second one I have installed on a Mini, the first one was a stainless steel one years ago. The installation is easy, just keep everything straight and you won't have any problems. It does improve the look and appearance of the Mini.

Recently installed two of them and they are great replacements for the somewhat crude factory front sight and lack of flash hider/muzzle brake. Much easier and faster target aquisition and automatically keeps you from canting the rifle. Recon that's why the same sight picture came on the M-1 Garrand, M-1 Carbine, M-14 and M-16's. My only caution about installing them is to tap it down with a mallet to make sure it is bottomed out. Installed mine first in case I screwed something up. Went on without a hitch. On my son's, it was a much tighter fit and I thought I had "pushed" it all the way down. After driling and installing it, I leaned it up next to mine and saw it was 1/4 inch longer. I drove the pins out and tapped down that last 1/4 inch. Of course I broke a drill bit off and it took a little more effort. So do it right the first time and the second time too. Still one more son's Mini-14 to go. They have proved to me that this part does what it says and is a must- have replacement.
