Noveske's Stainless Steel AR-15 Match Barrels in 300 AAC Blackout are perfect for wringing the most accuracy and performance out of this unique new cartridge. Composed of 416R stainless steel that's hardened to 30 RC, the barrel has a medium contour, bead-blasted satin finish, M4 extended feed ramps, and is threaded at the muzzle for the addition of flash hiders, muzzle brakes and/or sound suppressors. Each barrel is shipped with a pinned, low profile gas block, gas tube and barrel extension.

The barrel's pistol length gas system provides optimal reliability with subsonic ammunition while suppressed, and supersonic ammunition while unsuppressed. While supersonic ammunition may also function with a sound suppressor installed, subsonic ammunition fired without a sound suppressor may cause cycling problems.

Technical Notes:

Noveske Match Stainless Barrels use a proprietary 1" long gas block that comes installed from the factory. Standard AR-15 front sight bases (1.9" long) are NOT compatible.
This barrel is optimized for shooting both subsonic rounds with a suppressor and supersonic rounds without a suppressor. The barrel is also reliable when shooting supersonic rounds with a suppressor attached. It may not cycle subsonic rounds reliably without a suppressor installed at the muzzle.

Great Barrel

The barrel is excellent quality and a great value in my opinion because it includes the gas tube and gas block.

Unlike previous Noveske products this one came without the gas block pinned on. I was worried because everyone says Noveske pins the gas blocks on really well and you can't get them off. Not the case for my barrel. The barrel is drilled for the taper pins and went together really well.

I shoot subsonic 245gr cast lead bullets and sized to .3095 they work great with no leading. Noveske says this is a polygonal barrel but it's really far more like a traditional rifled barred with sloping land/groove transitions than sharp cliffs.

Noveske says they drill the gas port such that supersonic suppressed won't be over-gassed and that subsonic unsuppressed might not lock the bolt back. I tested with 10.6gr of AA1680 and my 245gr lead bullet and it locked the bolt back just fine without the suppressor. YMMV but for me it works great.

I put a Samson Evolution 9" rail on and the rail is longer than the barrel by about 1". I screw on my Liberty Mystic suppressor and the lock ring ends up right at the edge of the rail. It's a perfect fit. If you want the barrel sticking out of the rail so you can use a ratchet mount suppressor I'd recommend a 7" rail.

I would buy the barrel again, no regrets.

Very impressed with the accuracy out of this short barrel. Highly recommended if you don't mind the price. I have gotten 1-1/4" 5 rd group at 100yds with nosler bt 125 gr. Loads. Used an eotech.
