I bought this sight to mount on an AR15.I'm not military or LE, but I did want a reliable durable sight for my gun.I had tried the Burris XTS, (which appears to be the same sight) and as the above poster says, the dot looked like a starfish on that one.I returned it, but figured I just got a bad one.That must have been the case, because the Tasco has a nice round dot.The brightness is adequate. I pointed the sight at a kitchen fluorescent light, and had to put it on #11, but could still see the dot.On a bright day at the range, setting #8 was just fine for shootingI mounted the Tasco in the Burris extra-high tactical ring, and it's a good, solid mount that puts my iron sights in the lower third of the sight.The Tasco sight feels sturdy, and appears to be a quality product. The caps and threads seem to be well made, and not easily cross threaded. The click adjustments are precise and I was able to get it zeroed with about 20 rounds.I've had it to the range twice, and put about 100 rounds through it. So far, I'm very impressed with this sight.For some reason, I've got a feeling that this sight is going to last.Time will tell.

I Just received one of ...

I Just received one of these sights and have to say, Im very disappointed. Overall, this seems to be a very well constructed sight that looks and functions identical to the Burris XTS-135. However, it has the exact same problem that I had with 2 previous XTS-135's. The Tasco ProPoint did NOT have a sharply focused dot. The dot on both (Tasco & Burris) brand new sights looked exactly like a cluster of grapes. I even had several people confirm this and that it wasn't just a problem with my vision. I don't think this is the fault of MidwayUSA and Im sure there may be an explanation for it, but in my opinion this is not acceptable. I will now have had to send sights back to MidwayUSA 3 times. I wont be taking anymore chances with an exchange this time.

I've had this sight for ...

I've had this sight for about a year and around 800+ rounds. It came in. I mounted it and boresighted it. It seems pretty rugged and the windage was not broken as previous reviewers have had.Great sight for the price.

I have used this sight on ...

I have used this sight on a Ruger 10/22 for 4 years. I have had zero issues. The sight has maintained zero and the battery life is spectacular. Yea, at 10 yards the sight looks out of round but does it affect point of aim... No, it is a very minor issue.

I mounted it to my Marlin ...

I mounted it to my Marlin 336W on an XS Scout rail and it worked after it was shimmed at the rear to get the point of aim adjusted as I ran out of adjustment in the sight.

This sight is well worth ...

This sight is well worth the price tag. I have been using it for about 3 months now, and after about 1500 rounds or so, it still holds zero. I am using it forward-mounted on an AK47 with a Samson rail, and I don't baby it. It's not an M68 Aimpoint, but it doesn't need to be. It holds zero, the dot is fairly clear, and so far I have had no problems.

This is a good, durable ...

This is a good, durable red dot sight. I mounted mine on a FAB-10 and it performs better than expected. The rheostat allows you to choose what brightness setting you want to match your lighting conditions and the 42mm lens gives you good target visibility. Using a 3-volt lithium battery makes the sight compact. This sight gives you military performance at civilian cost. I am greatly pleased with the ProPoint. It is good money spent.

Nice units for the money. ...

Nice units for the money. The Vortex Strikefire is a great choice too. Be aware that just because these are red dot scopes with no magnification they are not immune the the effects of parallax. The parallax is set for a sharp looking dot at 50 yards or more. If you are trying to use it at closer ranges the dot may appear fuzzy. This may help explain some of the concerns about fuzzy looking dots in the other reviews on this product.

This sight is a solid unit, but the dot looked like a starfish with a tail no matter how low/hi setting is. I waited several days of turning on/off to see if it would improve but it hasn't after a week.

Avoid this scope. I just ...

Avoid this scope. I just shipped mine back. Windage and elevation adjustments were both broken out of the box. It would not adjust up or right but had a ton of travel down and left. I put a cheap Ebay Aimpoint clone from another rifle in the same mount and it zeroed perfectly! Also, if you do decide to buy this scope, plan on buying a decent mount. The included one is also junk and will not fit on a standard AR Picatinny rail.

I think for the money ...

I think for the money this is a great product, I have even read another review on another site where a law enforcement officer carries this site on his M-4. I have mine on my Bushmaster M-4 and haven't had any problems with it and have my BUIS in the mail and am really waiting to get it sighted. The product looks awesome on my M-4 and has a great slick tactical look without throwing 500 bucks on an Aimpoint sight! So for the money and overall performance you can't go wrong especially if you're wanting the tactical look to your AR!!

I recommend this scope ...

I recommend this scope for individuals that cannot afford the Aimpoint. I used mine on my 20" AR15 and so far so good. I had some red dot PDP2 tasco in the past and quality has been very good so I tried this one and I was never disappointed. I may get another one for my next 22lr pistol.
