Product Information

Featuring a pre-set trigger pull and skeletonized trigger shoe, this single stage trigger drops in, uses the original trigger pins and sets in place with hex screws that are located in the trigger housing. No gunsmithing required. Aluminum housing with a machined steel hammer.

A note on trigger and hammer pins:

Our good friends in Hartford have made one more deviation from the norm in some of their AR type rifles, using an approximately .170" (large) hole for the hammer and trigger pins as opposed to the .154" (small)diameter pins of the rest of the world, including all military M16s. This change was made in order to make it more difficult for civilians to use M16 parts in AR rifles. This is important to note, and before purchasing any hammer, trigger, disconnector or lower parts kit you need to check the diameter of the holes in your lower to determine if you have a "large" or "small" pin lower receiver.

I have built many 1911 ...

I have built many 1911 pistols and know how a nice trigger job should feel. I also have installed 4 other company's custom trigger kits and worked on them for hours with acceptable results.This Timney 3 lb. trigger group is by far the easiest to install (it would be hard to mess up on the install) and the resulting trigger feel was AMAZING!. I was building a highly accurate AR and wanted the best parts to enhance accuracy. If you want a trigger break that is clean, crisp and light, with an installation time of 15 min or so,..then this is THE trigger group!!.The let off was crisp and feels like 3 lbs as they state. Your AR will be more accurate and shooting it will be a joy.My Timney group came with a solid semi curved trigger. Not too straight or curved but gives just the right feel for precision shooting. I thought all came with a skeletonized trigger as shown, but I am pleased with the solid one as it works great.I do not recommend this trigger group in 3 lb. for a defensive tactical weapon. It is just too light in my opinion. Go for the 4 lb one instead for defense applications. But for a varmit, target, competion or any precision shooting with an AR, you cannot go wrong with this Timney trigger. Try it,..you'll agree!

This is an excellent trigger package for the money. Very smooth operation and improved my groups immediately after I installed. Originally purchased for my DPMS completely stock AR15 with iron sights. I liked it so much, I purchased another for my AR build. Well worth the money and I plan on purchasing for my other two AR's. Installed in minutes with very little effort. Purchased the skeletonized version mainly because of how it looks. From here on out, I will purchase the standard version just to save some money.

Best Trigger Ever IMO.

This 3lb Timney was installed in a Stag lower that houses a 20" LaRue stealth upper. I use this AR for long distance shooting out to 800 yards/meters.

For me this 3lb Timney is better then any single or double stage trigger I've ever shot in any firearm. I do long range shooting with 69-80+ grain .223 so precision and performance is a must and this trigger surpasses my needs. It took me about 10 shots to master the pull. Once I get in full position I finger trigger about 1/2 to 1lb, I then do my breathing technique and pull. One can also just setup without pre-pulling but I'm so use to double stage triggers it just works for me. Works good for combat shooting as well, just use caution as this 3lb trigger is a very light 3lbs. Amazing double and multiple tap trigger. If this trigger doesn't improve your accuracy nothing will.
Only bad is the 3lb trigger is so light but to me this is a pro.
Easy install. A novice can get confused when you have to tighten both the fixed hex bolts that are already in the trigger system and the two thread screws you have to install on top of them as the spring is in the way. Just use another thin Allen/hex wrench or something similar and move the spring over as you install the thread screws, the bolts in the system you can just push your way past the spring with the hex wrench. Put tape over trigger pins so they don't fall out, they will tighten up after you tighten the hex bolts. Also remember to remove your pistol grip, detent, selector spring and selector before hand.
NOTE ON ALEX COMMENT:No need to install a thin metal shim piece between the bottom of the lower and the trigger system to keep trigger from becoming loose. The hex bolts will only mark, not gouge your aluminum lower and your trigger system will never come loose. Timney and my gunsmith both advised me against this suggestion.

Got it for an AR15 build ...

Got it for an AR15 build with the upper on back order, so I put it in my AR10 CMMG lower. I wanted to to see if I would get light primer strikes with this trigger shooting .308, it worked great. The creep can only be felt when trying hard to feel it. I put a .003 shim where the set screws touch the lower to keep the screws from digging into the lower. Only down side is now I need to buy another one for my AR15 build.

I bought this for my new colt AR 15 and let me say it is the best money ever spent! Dropped right in and was night and day differance. If you are going to do something to your AR then this is the right move. Timney makes an awesome product and I also put one in my shot gun and it is also amazing. I can't say enough about it.

I have a Rock River Arms ...

I have a Rock River Arms Coyote Carbine that I shoot Hornady 55 grain V-Max ammunition in and I just installed a Timney 3 pound skeletonized trigger and my 3 round groups went from fairly decent for an AR-15 to all three rounds touching! Remember to put a steel shim between the bottom of your lower and the hex set screws due to the AR-15 lower being made of aluminum and the hex set screws being made of steel. The hex set screws will eventually gouge in the softer aluminum lower metal and the trigger will work its way loose over time and the shock of firing. I used a utility knife blade for the steel and with a little grinder work it made a great shim. Easy installation, worth the money due to amazing accuracy increase and the skeletonized trigger looks great!

Just put this trigger in my AR today and it is wonderful. What a difference it makes going from a stock two stage to this fine single stage. It took about 15 minutes to drop it in and would have been faster if I had read the directions. It has minimal travel and breaks very crisp. Read your directions, know that you have to take the pistol grip off and pop the safety out, and it will be a breeze. Two thumbs up for this trigger.

Took only about 5 minutes to install and is hands down the best trigger I have ever had for an AR-15. Out of the box it was just over 3lbs but after shooting a few rounds and applying some fp-10 oil it is now just over 2.5lbs. Amazing product!
