Best dummy rounds I have ...

Best dummy rounds I have used. No feeding issues or anything. Only one problem...If you use them a lot, the soft aluminum gets cut/deformed and can start having issues with ejecting. Never an issue with feeding, but some of older ones have major issues with ejecting. But still better than the other couple brands I have tried.

OK, but not the best. They work great as snap caps and the rubber "primer" takes the blow of the firing pin softly and quietly. They will withstand A LOT of dry fires, but not so many feed and ejection cycles. The aluminum construction leaves much to be desired. After a bit of use, the anodized coating wears off and the soft aluminum gets gouged up pretty easily, eventually causing feeding and ejection problems. Aluminum itself is quite soft, but exposed aluminum quickly converts to aluminum oxide, which is extremely hard (sandpaper). Bottom line, once the anodized coating wears off, replace them. Real brass casings would be a much better choice.

Firearm: Beretta 92FS ...

Firearm: Beretta 92FS Police Special 9mm Luger (USA)Saw these in a local gun shop and remembered seeing good reviews on them, apparently a lot of people like these little suckers. There are a couple down-sides to this particular product, but then again you will always find a down-side or two on almost any product. These snap caps are machined out of aluminum, which of course is good because they are metal, vs. a cheapo plastic that could possibly crack, BUT the down-side to these being aluminum, is that aluminum is a soft metal, therefor after chambering/ejecting these snap caps a lot over time they will form nicks, scratches and gouges, and of course this could affect the performance of these product. Also, over time the rubber like insert used to cushion the firing pin as it strikes seems like it would deform or degrade over a longer period of time with a lot of strikes, though this wouldn't be my main concern. Another little issue that I don't dig TOO much, but it's really not a HUGE deal, is that these proving dummy rounds are a dark purple in color, yes, it's easy to identify these are dummy rounds, but when you are doing FTE drills with these, or even if you simply eject one, when it goes flying you better watch where it goes, because they are a little harder to see with tan or darker carpet. But what I REALLY love about these is how they feed and function in my firearm, because these are machined out of aluminum and have such a nice finish on them, it leads to really nice function. Overall these are a GREAT product. Yes a part of me still sort of prefers the plastic snap caps with the spring loaded brass strike cap, but those have their downside too. They are all similarly priced, and these will definitely do the job.

This is a fine product, since I've never used the plastic one, I can't make comparison on its duribility. However, this particular product is made by aluminum, so it should be stronger. The primer pocket of this product has a hard rubber shock absorber, not a spring cap. This product will tear and wear as the milage pile on, but it should last quite a while.

Using these on my Taurus PT99AF, and they feed & eject perfect. Great for working on "flinching" at the trigger. Some people care if they get scratched up, But I don't... it's bound to happen.

These snap caps function ...

These snap caps function acceptably in my XD. The length of the casing is a bit long for my chamber, maybe by a few hundredths of an inch, and consequently the finish scratches off right behind the "bullet". Last round in any magazine consistently fails to extract or eject in a gun that has put over 2,000 rounds downrange with no failures or stoppages of any kind. That said, these still work as intended for training aids.

These work great in my CZ75, not so much in my Hi-Point. I think the problem is more with the Hi-Point than the snap caps. Maybe if I buff them out with the Dremel tool they'll work better.

These are practically indestructable. If you use them ALOT the will show signs of wear, but still work. I use them for immediate action training whenever I practice defensive shooting. Load one per magazine to speed up your immediate action reaction time. In any caliber, indispensable for IA drills!
