Works fast. I've stopped using Hoppe's Benchrest Copper Solvent. I've stopped using brushes also. They're not necessary. Odor is strong, but this is a minor detail.

The best copper remover ...

The best copper remover on the market, period. While I don't use Sweet's for everyday cleaning, when I have a rifle that needs a thorough cleaning, I use a carbon solvent then use Sweet's to remove the copper. I haven't found anything that can compare when it comes to removing copper fouling. Just make sure you use it where there's good air flow, preferably blowing away from you.

Usually use Hoppe's #9 for everything....but I have a 1943m44 that just would not clean up no matter what I did.I even used an electric bore cleaner.I scrubbed the bore with this stuff ( its a gell ) let it sit for a little while...and kept on scrubbing changing patches in between.I now have a mirror bore m44 that I thought would never clean up.Hoppe's #9 is no longer in stock on my bench :)

Works well to remove standard fouling, then removes the copper fouling; even from a barrel that's seen 5000 plus rounds. One word of warning though, use with good ventilation. This stuff smells nasty!

I used this for the first time today. I think it works OK, but not nearly as aggressive as I was hoping. I bought a used and abused SS Ruger Blackhawk which is cleaning up nicely. It still has a ton of copper in the grooves. I soaked it with Sweet's repeated, mopped and repeated. The patches never got very blue, but I can see it helped a little but the grooves are still nasty. I may have to clean it a few more times.

OK, I'm a believer. Last night I cleaned my coyote rifle really well, I thought, with regular Shooter's Choice. Then I looked down the muzzle. I was shocked at how much copper I could see still in the bore. Today I picked up some Sweet's, and used it according to the directions. The third swabbing showed no more blue, so I cleaned out the Sweet's and hooked up my FoulOut unit. It stayed on only about 5 seconds before it indicated the bore had no more copper in it, so the FoulOut confirmed that the Sweet's did it's job completely. I'm sold on Sweet's.

As far as copper solvents go, Sweet's 7.62 is as good as it gets. I used it on an already clean M1 and the amount of copper removed from the clean bore made a believer out of me. Military rifle shooters who shoot lots of rounds will appreciate just how clean Sweets will get your bore.

This is by far, the BEST copper solvent available. I use it exclusively on all my rifles where copper jacketed bullets are used and have had tremendous success. Be sure to use a nylon bore brush or cloth patch due to the ammonia content of this product. Ammonia will act on the brass patch holder and leave bronze deposits in your barrel---this stuff is next to impossible to get out! If you want tighter groups, do yourself a favor and get a bottle of Sweet's--you won't regret it.
