Very good group at 65 yards out of my 870 20 inch barrel and a red dot, not bad recoil. I shot about 2 inch group at 65 yards with them.

Recoil for these rounds ...

Recoil for these rounds were relatively brutal out of an 18" barrel but not that bad out of a heavier shot gun with a 20" barrel. Both had full stocks. I can't see someone using these with a pistol grip. I found them to be fairly accurate. The plastic carrier stuck in the paper target at about 25 yards.

These slugs are quite accurate at 50 yards. The only downside is that they practically rip your arm off after every pull of the trigger so you can really only use them for hunting. I would buy these again.

The accuracy of rifle from a shotgun 2.5" groups @ 100 yards from a scoped Charles Daly 26" barrel, I never knew a shotgun could do that, back it up wt a 3" 00 buck and the fact u can fire 5 rounds with pin point accuracy, its now my favorite deer cannon.

I tested Federal's Power-Shok 12 Gauge 2-3/4" 1 oz Hollow Point through a Remington 870. It wears a 20" smooth, cyl. bore barrel with rifle sights. I also tried Brenneke K.O. 12 Ga 2-3/4" 1 oz Foster-type & Winchester Super-X 12 Ga 2-3/4" 1 oz Rifled Slug. With the Federal & Winchester I fired 5 rounds & hit 5 one gallon milk jugs at 90 yards! 1598 FPS average through my chrono. This stuff is GOOD! Join The NRA!

This is great ammo for deer hunting. I have been hunting with this round for about 15 years now in minnesota. Very consistent performer. It gives good penetration on the large whitetails we have here. At 50 yards, from the smooth bore slug barrel of my 11-87, I can keep three round groups touching from the lead sled. These slugs have never let me down on deer. Can't say the same for the Winchester rifled slugs. Stay away from those rounds. They aren't very consistent and don't penetrate nearly as well.

Like another reviewer, I tried these as well as Win Super-X of the same variety. And I'm also using a Remington 870 with smooth barrel - mine just has the bead sight, no rifle sights.Both these and the Win shot well, but these grouped a bit better for me. I tried at both 50 yards and 100 yards (that's the furthest I'd try hunting with slugs anyway), and they performed well at both ranges.For open sights and at this price, I really can't ask for more.
