The most recognizable "American Classic" pattern rifle sight. This sight was a factory installed option on many early Winchester lever action rifles. Features the unique double step elevator and the reversible sight notch piece ("V" or "U" notches) for precision sighting. Blue steel.

Pros: Nice bright finish ...

Pros: Nice bright finish and the full buckhorns make a nice way to target faster. Once it is on it won't move on you unlless you move it.Cons: The dovetail is made of very hard plastic that is a little oversized. When you install it you will need a brass punch to force it on and to cut the groove larger to fit on a Winchester 94 or a Winchester 1300 shotgun. The elevator on it looks a bit cheap also, like it is made of sheet tin. Also keep in mind if you want to change it from the shallow V to the U do it before you install. It can only be done while off the gun. The buckhorns are made of plastic also, however this is my second set and the first ones have never broken. I would guess it is made of the same plastic Mossberg uses on their trigger guards.

I replaced the factory Sights on a Taurus Thunderbolt 45 Long Colt with this Classic Buckhorn. Because of the way the sight fit closer to the receiver than the original I had to modify the height adjustment riser by clipping off the extended tab so it would fit.

Put these on an old J. ...

Put these on an old J. Stevens model 66 that was missing the rear sight. Put on a fiber optic for front also. Never used a Full Buckhorn before but I like it. The Double Step Elevator is also new to me and I prefer it to the standard single. Not quite as heavy but seems more stable when adjusting. Shoulder this plinker and it's a snap to line up the sights on target. They look good on the old .22lr. Quality steel sight that has to be an improvement on any factory sights. Had to do a tiny bit of filing on the dovetail to fit the barrel. Other than that one thing I have no complaints about this sight. Will be ordering another for an old 1953 Marlin 336sc I'm working on. Marble's website/formulae helped me find the correct height for the front site to match with these buckhorns.
