Loaded with Hornady's popular V-Max polymer tipped bullet, SUPERFORMANCE Varmint ammunition is filled with proprietary propellants that increase the velocity ratings 100 to 200 feet per second compared to other popular brands. Because there is no increase in pressure, regardless of the caliber, there is no increase in felt recoil but there IS an increase in efficiency and high speed performance. Plus, SUPERFORMANCE Varmint loads are versatile and will perform flawlessly in all rifles, including semi-autos.

Hornady's V-Max Bullets feature a polymer tip which enhances accuracy and promotes devastating expansion. The tip raises the ballistic coefficient for faster velocity and helps to stabilize the bullet in flight. It also acts as a wedge, initiating bullet expansion. The copper jacket provides the necessary bearing surface for maximum stability out of the barrel, and the jacket is built to withstand the fast twist rates of the most advanced varmint rifles.

3270 fps out of a 18" Wilson AR with a carbine length gas system; significant velocity boost over any other load out of the gun, with a 1" group. Out of 20" AR got 3400 fps with under 1" group. No chance to try on varmints yet but I expect usual v-max results. Makes an 223 come closer to the 22-250. I'm buying more.

Shoots ok, but I dislike the fact that the primers are crimped in. Makes it miserable to reload the empties.

Outstanding Ammo! The only .223 ammo I will shoot when varmint hunting. Devastating results on coyotes and foxes. I shoot it out of a Rock River Arms AR with a 1:9 twist. Bullets touch at 100 yds. I've been shooting this ammo for 2 years now. Have tried other ammo at the range but ONLY shoot this while hunting!

Shot this round out of a new H&R Ultra Varmint Rifle with a Nikon Coyote Special 4.5-14x, at 100 yards 3 shot groups looked like three-leaf clovers ~ .25" or .5". Incredibly accurate and you can never go wrong with the V-Max Bullet for Varmints.

Excellent ammo. Shot 1.5" 3 shot group at 300 yds with CZ527 varmint Kevlar and Leupold VX-II 4x12x40 AO scope. Hit the 3' x 3' steel plate at 500 yds 2 out of 3 times on my first attempt. Believe its the ammo and the gun, not me...Have and will buy more. Very impressed.

I am not the world's best ...

I am not the world's best shot, but today I went through two boxes of this ammunition and shot three of the best groups I have ever shot from a Savage Edge (Yes, they renamed it, but my is an original) with a Nikon Predator Scope. Groups were .4, .45, and .50 (@ 100yds), and although this is a good rifle with a so-so trigger and an excellent scope, I attribute this almost entirely to the ammo. It shot consistently to the same point of aim, and although I didn't chrono it, (Ok, I'm lazy) I will next trip to document why this is so consistently accurate.

I purchased two boxes of these for my 16" Yankee Hill AR-15. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Normally Hornady match ammunition shoots 1" - 1.5" groups at 200 yds. I had 1 out of 20 rounds paper at 200 yards with one box. The second box 8 out of 20 shot 4" high and the others didn't paper. Switched back to regular Hornady match ammo after two very disappointing boxes of Superformance and the usual 1" - 1.5" groups all day long. Very displeased I spent money on these rounds.

Picked up a few boxes to try out. I shoot a Stevens 200 topped w/a 5-15 Bushnell. Not a high dollar rig by any means. I'm getting consistent 1/2" to 3/4" 100 yd. groups. No more, no less than I've been able to get with other quality ammo. No noticeable difference in recoil, but definitely more muzzle blast. Have taken several groundhogs @ distances between 80-200 yards. Each one has been an instant stop. I'm looking forward to trying these out on coyotes. As long as the price remains reasonable, I'll buy more.

Hey everybody. I got 4 Boxes of this ammo this weekend with my new 223 Bushmaster. 24" barrel with 1-9 twist. Even in a 8-10mph wind I was still able to make 3 bullets touch at 100yrds. Will buy more.

Shot this load out of a RRA AR 20in. I got 1/2in groups to 5/8in groups. I have shot 2 coyotes with the load. One at 50 yds the other at 225 yard. Both were one shot kills with not tracking. Great load.
