Plastic Steel is an extremely hard, durable epoxy for repairing cracks, breaks and joining parts. Considered by many top gunsmiths to be the absolute best for bedding a stock due to its very hard, yet non-brittle characteristics. Available as a putty or liquid for various applications.

Best bedding compound

bedded several rifles combined with pillars on some, Mausers, rem 700, Win 70. All had improved groups. Set up time allows for easy clean up with q-tips and bore cleaner without stock finish damage. Shop other suppliers for a much better price on 1 lb

I used this on my first bedding job (2 rifles) and kiwi neutral as a release agent and worked perfectly, I will use it again on my other rifles and Midway as always the best.

I just used this to pillar bed a new stock for my M200. Sets up super hard and is easy to work with at room temperature. I will be using this from now on. Highly recommended.

Have used this product to bed a Remington 700 and also a Savage 10ML-II smokeless muzzleloader. Both with great results and proof that can be seen in the small groups produced. Kiwi Neutral Shoe Polish was used as a release agent on both rifles and will be used on all others as well. Apply release agent to anything and everything that you dont want to have Devcon stuck to and put putty/modeling clay in all the holes to keep the Devcon out. I also use the putty/clay as a dam to keep the compound from running where I dont want it. If Midway allowed 10 stars, I would give it to this product!!

As a structural aircraft ...

As a structural aircraft mechanic I know that the intended use of devcon is to fill dents in aircraft skin sort of like you would you use bondo on a car. I can tell you that this stuff is extremely strong once it dries and is very easy to apply smooth and even. I have applied this to very high speed aircraft and it holds up for a very long time. It never occurred to me to bed the action of my rifles with it but, I have no doubt that it would be perfect for the job.

This is the STUFF!! I have used one jar on several rifles, about 4. I really like this product, it has great resistance to chemicals and is quite forgiving on the mix ratio. I have used other products only to return to this product. It is one of the most expensive products (besides the ti powder) but it's worth it 100%.

Used his on my first bedding job.... used kiwi neutral as a release agent... just be careful and not create a mechanical lock....and this stuff is AMAZING...i WILL buy again for other projects.... this product will live up to all of the reviews it has received.. great product....

Outstanding product. I've bedded only 2 rifles with this, but they were really easy. It has the perfect consistency, it will squeeze into places it needs to be, but it won't run into places it shouldn't be. Neutral Kiwi as a release agent and some plumber's putty to keep it out of screw holes, and you're ready to go. It was my first time bedding rifles, and not only was it easy to use, it made a profound difference in the rifles themselves. A solid 4 MOA rifle became a 1/2 MOA rifle. If you make a mistake, it's pretty easy to chip, sand, or machine it away and start over, so don't hesitate to try it.

I have bedded three rifles with Devcon and one rifle with another common bedding product. I have read where most gunsmiths recommend this product over all the rest. In my opinion there is Devcon then there is everything else. Devcon is in a class of its own for workability and performance. I strongly recommend Devcon over anything else. I also use it to bed scope bases.Charlie
