Nasty habit of the primers detonating. You actually have to use a mallet to seat them as part of the loading process. Stupidest idea ever.

I have regular presses ...

I have regular presses but for quick reloads this works great. I deprime/prime with another tool to speed things up. All in all works very well, is accurate, and simply fun.

Great Tool! Ive loaded almost 500 rounds so far and find this simple and efficient. With the Lee Hand Primer can load 50 rounds in less than an hour.

I have a Rock Chucker ...

I have a Rock Chucker press and a Lee Turret Press and normally reload this caliber using a RCBS die set and a Lee Factory Crimp Die. I have seen the Lee Loader advertised nearly all my life but I never had used one. I finally bought one perhaps more for nostalgic reasons than anything else. I love this tool. It does take a few rounds to get comfortable, especially when seating the primer. When you do get comfortable, the tool is easy and fun to use. Resizing, bullet seating and crimping is simple and the results are consistent. With the Lee Powder Dipper and load data, ammunition is turned out rather rapidly. For reloading a box of cartridges, it is easier to set up and use than a single stage press.

This kit just plain works, great introduction into reloading basics. Reload at the range or in the field, makes a superb addition to any survival kit. Requires a GOOD soft face or dead blow type hammer, I use mine with a hydraulic press set up in the shop to resize cases.

I've been using one of these reloading sets for 14 years got one for another caliber I been using for 20 years no problems at all. Is time consuming but worth the money, it paid for itself about the first box I reloaded with it. Primer punch pin must be centered in the primer hole or the end may break other than that it's a great tool for survival needs or simple reloading.

This was my first reloading set. I'm giving it five stars for engineering and performance. That said it is slow to use; takes about 1 1/2 hours to produce 50 rounds as it is but if you purchase a Lee Auto-Prime separately, you can reduce reloading time significantly (and reduce the flinching caused by pounding primers in with a hammer).This little loader works great with black powder revolver cartridge loads and I've loading many rounds with it out in the field. Even though it is marked for .45 Long Colt it also works great for loading very accurate .45 Schofield rounds.
