First off, I want to mention that this is NOT made of aluminum- it's plastic. Actually, the "body" of it is either a soft plastic or hard rubber, and the caps are of a harder, much more stiff injection-molded polymer- possibly glass-filled Nylon, but I can't be sure. But don't bust Midway for the error- the manufacturer's package also says that it's made from solid billet aluminum. THERE IS NO ALUMINUM in this product, and the only metal would be the springs, and perhaps the hinge pin (I don't have it in front of me, so I can't swear to that). It did irritate me to find that it's not aluminum as advertised, so I did knock off one bullet from the rating. We'll see what happens after I get a chance to install it on my Eotech sight (I didn't have time to install it last night, but I will get on it tonight and will report my findings). Assuming that it works as advertised, it should be pretty trick.

The lens cover had a ...

The lens cover had a great appearance and function. Unfortunately it did not fit my eotech optic. The clearance between the optic and the metal protective shield was too little to accommodate the rubber lens cover. I tried to make minor modifications, but it was simply a wrong fit. Other appear to have had a better experience with this product. Regrettably I can not recommend this product.

I have used this product for about 4 months and have no problems. I installed the cover in about 15 mins and it protects boths lens and stays in place both closed and opened.

It works. BUT, don't expect an easy install! The rubber body did not fit well in the shroud. After several attempts and numerous drops of liquid soap it fit. If I could do over, I would have saved my money and bought another product.

Just following up on my GG&G cover review. As a board member of the PHOENIX VARMINT CALLERS, INC here in Arizona, I've put it through the test this season. I've hunted at least two 3-day weekends per month for the last six months here in our harsh environment, from up north in temps well below 0 deg, to the south desert where some places were pushing 125 deg. I've been out more times, but you get the idea. This scope cover has left me more than pleased with its design, ease-of-use, and function as intended. It has performed as promised with no problems at any temperature. I expect many, many more years of flawless use. Kudos to GG&G for an excellent product! I give it the maximum 5 stars!!!

Good design easy to install. Gave it a 4 star because I have trouble getting the front cover to latch closed on both sides, but with a little effort can get it closed completely. It's worth the trouble because it protects the lenses from dust while not in use. I highly recommend this product if you want to help protect your expensive investment.

I just installed my flip cover in less than 5 minutes. It was a breeze with no problems what so ever. Didn't even need soap. When I first opened the package it appeared the front cover was not working properly, in that it didn't flip and stay at 90 deg as shown. I called gg&g before installation to check on this and they assured me that once the cover was installed it would function properly, which it does. I used a little blue loctite on the hood screws and some fingernail polish on the mount screw. I recommend this product, but need to hunt with it before giving it the full 5 stars.

I bought this sight cover for my EOTech 512 and got the one that fits my husband's 557. My husband's works perfectly. He loves it. The front site cover on mine doesn't close on one side. It looks like the rubber mold wasn't formed properly. Since it only secures on one side, it pops open if it's touched. The rear sight cover, however, is perfect. My husband's doesn't move at all unless you open it. I love the front sight cover opening at a 90 degree angle to block the sun. Wicked cool option. It's great because it doesn't get in the way and not another part to lose. Getting it on is not all that difficult. It took me longer to get the screws off the scope hood to install the cover. You do need to add a TINY (I mean really tiny ... you may want to put a dab on a paper towel instead) amount of dish soap to get it to slide on. Put the soap directly on the EOTech. This way you won't have soap dripping onto the lens. Be slow and steady when sliding it back in place and you should have no problem. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I had to return mine otherwise it'd have 5. I'm hoping that the replacement works as it's supposed to. If not, I'm probably going to keep it. Better to have a lens cover than not, especially with the price of these scopes.

I purchased this item for my EOTech XPS2-0. Fit and finish were severely lacking. Even after applying dish soap and following the directions to help slide it into place, it is just too tight. The rubber is too thick on the top part making it an impossible fit. Also the front flip cap won't snap into place because the bottom edge does not conform properly to the sight.

If you have an EOTech that these lens covers fit don't hesitate to buy this product. This product fits perfectly, and is very well made plus the installation is simple with no problems. These lens covers are the best I have seen for the EOTech. They also look factory with all colors of the EOTechs. A very, very good product!

Perfect fit. Yes, you must use a lubricant to get this item to slide back onto sight once installed in the hood. Excellent investment to protect your valuable EOTech.
