I have always loved this ...

I have always loved this ammo, and probably still do, though I had a rough time with it this year. I shot a very large bull moose at 300 yards. He has unable to move his legs, and the gravel bar was covered in frothy red blood.. shot him twice more.. a bit lower to get both lungs(assuming by his actions the first round got spine). He walked away with (3) 250 grain slugs in him. I have killed ten moose with this ammo never shooting more than once, so I have no idea what happened. I feel at that range I did not get deep enough penetration to get both lungs? Old ammo?. pretty sick about it.

Excellent ammunition! Was ...

Excellent ammunition! Was able to get 1" groups out of my Browning A-bolt with this ammo. Just recently came back from a Red Stag hunt and the ammo performed flawlessly going through both shoulders of the 500lb Stag, taking out the lungs and a few ribs as well.I plan to use this ammunition again in the future on Colorado Elk hunts and future big game hunts.

Great Ammo! I loaded this ...

Great Ammo! I loaded this bullet myself for years. More recently I have been shooting at the range less and this ammo performs as good as my handloads. I use it from everything for deer to kudu, moose, grizzly, sheep, and animals as small as klipspringer and duiker. I have never had it fail to go where aimed, perform on contact and the bullets that I have recovered have been text book expansion. This is the best you can get!

It goes without saying that the Nosler .338” 250 grain Partition is a fine big game bullet, whether used in handloaded or factory-produced ammunition. My own hunting experience with the Federal Premium .338 Winchester Magnum 250 grain Nosler Partition load has been in Oklahoma whitetail hunting. The big Nosler puts a correspondingly big hole in a deer, but the problem of bloodshot meat associated with many a magnum rifle cartridge does not apply to this load. If you’re considering one .338 Win. Mag. load for all hunting scenarios, this one is tuff to beat. The nose section will give reliable expansion on game the size of whitetail deer. And, the rear section does drive the bullet deep, even when significant resistance is met. I once fired this particular load into a 5 gallon bucket filled with shredded horse apples and river silt, all mixed into a muddy, thick consistency. At the shot, the plastic bucket was literally ripped wide-open, the dense medium within blown out, and the cinder block nearly a foot beneath the bullet's path shattered. The .338 250gr. Partition was recovered from wet-newsprint stacked behind the exploded bucket. The bullet’s nose core had fragmented off, leaving flanges of the jacket spread out to a diameter over of an inch. Weight retention was just under 70%. The performance of this Federal load was impressive, to say the least. Many have suggested that the .338 Winchester Magnum is the best all-around cartridge for the North American hunting fields. It could be argued, then, this load is of the best for the best.
