The standard kit contains one reduced power trigger return spring and one reduced power bolt stop spring. The trigger return spring provides a reduced trigger pull and the lighter ejector spring offers smoother operation. The bolt stop spring reduces the effort required to remove the bolt.

From Factory my 700 VLS ...

From Factory my 700 VLS with the new Remington trigger have 3.11 pounds, after installed the kit I have 3.11 pounds!!! the same. Well, Im not polish or do anything more, just install the kit. The Remington's trigger unit comes sealed and I can't make any adjustment of overtravel just in the screw that is located in the trigger (outside) The instructions are poor, not any graphic, Im not install the bolt stop spring already because I don't find where is suppose to stay. I use the AGI Rem700 video and also I don't find where is the bolt stop spring.Probably this kit works in the older models and is for use by a very experienced Gunsmith but I cannot recommended

I had replaced my bolt stop spring with this beefed up version. A much better improvement than the stock spring. A good buy!!

After watching the AGI ...

After watching the AGI video on the Remington 700 by Bob Dunlap, and the AGI video on supertuning your bolt action rifle by Darrell Holland, I bought one of these kits. Based on the information in these videos and my basic knowledge accumulated in 20 years of "ol time" gun building, I was able to take a really stiff and creepy Remington 700 trigger with a 6.5 pound pull and "tune" it to break like glass at 2.75 pounds. It was impressive. The little trigger pull spring from this kit was the last piece of the puzzle, and it worked like a charm after I'd done the cleaning up, polishing, and adjustments.

This is the best $12.00 ...

This is the best $12.00 you could spend on a Remington 700 rifle. I always keep one on hand for future purchases or a friends rifle. Haven't tried any Timney, Jard or Rifle Basic triggers.

I have used many dozens ...

I have used many dozens of these spring kits to upgrade Remington 700 AND model 7 rifles, and I feel that this is the best twelve dollars you could spend on your rifle. The trigger spring works for both the 700 and model 7, but the bolt stop spring works only for the 700. Trigger pulls from 1-1/2 to 3-1/2 pounds can be achieved. If you can't afford $200 for a Jewell trigger or any other aftermarket trigger, this is the best way to go. If you don't fully understand Remington triggers and don't know someone who does, please take your rifle to a GUNSMITH and let him do it. If you try to figure it out on your own, you or someone you love could be KILLED. With that said, this product has performed very well for me for many years and I highly recommend it.

Straightforward kit to ...

Straightforward kit to greatly improve trigger action at a low cost. I am not a gunsmith and used this kit on my new Remington 700VLS. I was able to safely lower the trigger weight from 6 to 2.3 lb. without prior experience. The most difficult part was reinstalling the trigger and aligning all the parts and the pins. An aftermarket trigger would have required the same alignment issue. I am very pleased and highly recommend this kit.
