Technical Information

Collet:
  • This is the neck portion of the broken shell extractor only. It is intended to be used with the corresponding case head portion for use with wildcat and other non-standard cartridges.
    General Extractor Notes:
  • Designed for use when the case head has separated from the case
  • The base of the steel extractor is shaped like the base of the cartridge case
  • The front of the extractor is ridged spring steel and slides into the case neck, grasping it
  • The extractor base can then be grasped (by the rifle's extractor) and the case neck may be pulled out of the chamber
  • These broken shell extractors are slightly longer than the actual cartridge and are caliber-specific
