The RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure is a solidly constructed powder measure that throws consistently accurate powder charges. This large 685 diameter adjustment screw replaces the standard metering screw on the current style Uniflow with the large cylinder only.

Fits: RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure (Sold Separately) with a measuring cylinder with a 11/16" diameter metering chamber. This is the Uniflow Powder Measure where the metering screw is removed from the cylinder up through the powder hopper. Function: 17-20 Caliber Drop Tube

I obtained the micrometer ...

I obtained the micrometer adjustment screw for my powder measure as I was searching for a way to accurately return to a setting. I load a fair number of different calibers with different powders (I consider myself an experimenter) and this solved the situation most wonderfully. I am able to return to a previous setting with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.

Easy to install. However, ...

Easy to install. However, I can't get anything close consistent charges with the micrometer adjustment screw. The powder seems to hang up in the measure's chamber no matter how I tap the measure. The standard adjustment screw, however, was excellent and threw perfect charges every time. Puzzling. I asked RCBS for help. They sent me a new standard adjustment screw. Dont know how they expect that to fix the problem with the micrometer adjustment screw. Still working the problem.

The one I received did not have enough paint in the dial ticks (hardly any-Bad QC). I could not read it at all. I phoned RCBS and they suggested using a "Paint Stick" and wiping off the outside with a tissue. They would do it as a return, but would take some time. A paint stick is like a big Sharpie with Paint, they these use at junk yards to write on used car parts. I just happen to have a friend give me one!He told me, that is what they use at RCBS! It helped a lot, but I keep a flashlight near to read the dial setting. I may paint the lines again? I think a small bottle of Model paint would work too?I have used it a few times, so I don't have much input on how repeatable it is?

I just installed (and used) the RCBS Mic Meter and it's a vast improvement over the stock metering mechanism on the Uniflow. Previously, because finding the right setting for a particular powder was such a pain and took so long, I tended to load larger batches of the same caliber before moving to the next caliber. However, being able to dial in the setting for a particular powder/caliber, allows me to expeditiously produce small batches of the same caliber (which is more consistent with how I shoot). When preparing 3 different loads this afternoon, the mic allowed me to return to the correct loads within less than .1 gr. In my opinion, this product is well worth the price (although the instructions are a bit sparse).

Micrometer adjustment screw was easy to install and provides very accurate setting. I think RCBS should include this with powder measure instead of old screw.

I have owned RCBS products for 30 years. They have never failed me, and they continue to perform like new. They put a great deal of engineering forethought and design into all their products. In addition, support from RCBS, and product warranty is absolutely superlative.

This is the lowest rating for any RCBS product I've ever written, and it's partly because I raised these issues with RCBS, and they seemed not to care - very unusual for them. I had three problems. First, the stem is longer than the old stem, and would hit the table the powder measure was mounted on. Not critical, but inconvenient to relocate, and in my setup required me to charge with my left hand. Second, the stem is heavier than the both the old stem as well as the charging handle, which means it falls after passing a charge of powder and I let go of it. It falls, and opens the charge chamber to the next load of powder, even if I planned to change the load. Again, not critical, but inconvenient. Third, the scribe marks on the stem were not calibrated to the marks on the dial. The dial is calibrated to the stem when it's in the full-in position, but out at 50 grains or so, the calibration fails and the zero on the dial comes around nowhere near a scribe mark on the stem. This makes it very difficult to record stem and dial positions in relation to charge weight. It appears as if someone miscalculated the number of threads per inch when marking the scribe lines. I'll try recalibrating out near 50 to see if that works, but otherwise it's going back.

Much easier to adjust than the standard screw that came with measure. It is much easier than messing with the locking nut. Seems fairly accurate, and works best with round or flake type powders. I read that in a manual and also had first hand experience on it.

It is well made. It is not as easy to calibrate a specific measurement as I thought it would be. It is easy to return to a previous setting and that makes it worth the purchase price.

I wish I had this 5 years ago. Truly an improvement over the standard screw insert. Read the instructions for proper install. Just write down your mic. number for your load and return to it within .2 grains. I also recommend you install a powder baffle for more accuracy.
