Weaver Top-Mount Rings offer wide top steel caps that hold zero under the most jarring recoil. Loosen the thumb nuts and you can go back to iron sights in seconds. Later you can put the rings back on the base, tighten the thumb nuts and the scope will be very close to zero.

CHOOSING RINGS: Ring height is determined by measuring the outside objective (bell) diameter on your scope. If you aren't sure which rings will suit your needs, please refer to the Ring Height Application Chart.

I am really disgusted ...

I am really disgusted with these rings for two reasons. 1. The rings are spring loaded and have to be squeezed and snapped over the scope tube with some pressure. This really gouges the scope, to the point where it is not just mounting marks in the scope but gouges where the steel shows through. 2. The scope moves as the rings are tightened. So using a tool such as a wheeler level you have to align the scope greatly offset, guessing as to what the correct offset is. As you tighten the ring screws you hope the scope reticle will come into alignment, but you can never get it just right. Very poor design, there are others that are much better.

I am old school and the ...

I am old school and the fact that you have to set your scope a bit canted as you pull down the mounting screws on Weaver style Mounts has never bothered me. I seldom have to do it twice. They work very well, have been around forever, and are priced right. You can pay more and get fancier, but bottom line is, these work just as well for less.PS: The high mount will clear the fat fore arm on a DPMS M-4, and a M-14 with a 40 scope.
