Works Flawlessly In Kimber Custom II 5"

Bought 2 of these back in July, 2012 for my new Kimber Custom II 5" and I haven't had a single problem. I suggest buying and attaching the Kimber bumper's (I like the largest size) as they really help in seating the mag. Another great Kimber product.

I bought two of these specifically because they were Kimber, a very high quality name right? In my Rock Island FS Tactical they do not work, in that they will not lock the slide open after the last round. The follower jams on top of the slide lock, not only preventing the slide from locking open but the magazine will not fall free without assistance from above. The pistol came with a ACT-MAG made in Italy and I guess I'll go with more of those because they work flawlessly.

I carry a Kimber Pro Carry II w/ alloy frame EVERY DAY as my primary carry gun and it came with this exact mag in it. The gun is black so I like the black color. I can't count how many rounds have been through that mag. Almost every brand of hollow point ammo has been tried through it and I have never had a problem with feeding, eject. or an untimely slide stoppage or failure to stop the slide after the last round. Because I carry the gun every day it is the mag that is always in the gun as it fits flush with the bottom of the frame for max concealment. My two spare mags are Wilson's or Kim-Pro with base pads for a sure seating of the mag in a stressful situation. This Kimber mag always has 7 rnds. in it and one in the pipe, every day 24/7 for 5 years with zero perceptible spring weakening. I think that says a lot about the material quality. And because it's carried concealed daily there is always dust, lent and other debris that ends up in the mag but it still goes bang 8 times when I fire out old ammo for new. I've seen lots of bad comnts. on almost every brand of mag at some point or other. Everyone has their favorites, but mags are kind of like ammo when it comes to a 1911, every gun has a brand that works the best in it. Some guns will feed any w/ any mag just like some guns will shoot any ammo accurately as long as it is a reputable brand. When people start talking about mags failing to function it's usually a cheap made mag or a finicky pistol. Some of the Colts can be finicky. So before you trash a Wilson, Chip McCormick, Kimber etc. make sure it's not a problem with the pistol / magazine combination. And remember you can get a "lemon" in anything made by man.

I own several of these magazines and use them in my Kimber Custom II. I have been very happy with their performance. The magazines for me have been reliable and durable. Ive dropped them, fired 1000s of rounds and fell in a river once while wearing several on my belt. They seem to do their job.

These are the only magazines I use in my Kimber. Some of them have gone through thousands of rounds and been dropped on the ground several times during competition; I've never had to replace any of them and they don't cause jams (ever).

I have 6 of these magazines and 6 Colt magazines. I have never had any problems with any of them in my Kimber Custom II. They chamber either Ball or JHP with equal ability, without any failure. They do what they are supposed to do... Nuff Said...

Completely reliable magazine. Never a failure to feed, no failures to activate slide stop when the last round was ejected. I installed a base pad; other than that, this magazine needed no improvement. Can't ask for more than that.

The main gun shop/range that I attend has a lot of 1911 guys there. Many of them said to throw the Kimber mag in the trash as it has supposedly had some catastrophic failures. I have never had a problem with using them on the two Kimbers I have owned. I give it 4 of 5 since there are still some concerned shooters out there. Perhaps just internet myth. I would not try to use it on a non-Kimber 1911, however.
