Very good fit and finish, ...

Very good fit and finish, and is nicely dished out and ribbed down the center for use with rifle sights, and does not block any part of the ghost ring sight picture. I had to drill and tap my older 870 reciever for the 3 6-48 screws that mount this, so far it has held up just fine to recoil with the little bit of blue loc-tite I put on the screws when I torqued them down. It also is very straight and uniform, allowing QD mounts to return to 0 when removed and reinstalled. The mount is too high to use with a bead sight, but it matches up well with the scattergun tech ghost ring sights on my gun, although you need to detatch the red-dot or scope to use the irons, a QD mount helps in that the scope can hold 0, and can be quickly removed if it fails and you have to go back to the irons. Good setup for me in that this is on my 18" home defense gun that pulls double duty for hunting with slugs. I have a scope zeroed at 100 yards for use with slugs in a lever mount for deer, and the irons are zeroed for 00 buck at 25 yards for home defense. When I go out hunting, I simply slap the scope on, and can put the first slug on target, then when I get home, I pull it off, and the ghost ring night sights are ready to go if I need to defend my home.
