James Breton of Devon, PA, I agree with you 100%, mine cracked just like that also. I did not even twist it that hard and it cracked. I have to put a ring of scotch tape around it and then slide the on switch plastic guard over it!!! I think anyone looking for a bore light, you might want to try the CED Micro Pocket Bore Light because that is what I am ordering next.

What a piece of junk. Got ...

What a piece of junk. Got my order today and the light is a joke. The worst quality I have seen. Will not take a AAA battery in the metal cup end. The cup is undersized. When I took it apart to "FIX" it, I had to pull the battery out with pliers. Cheaper than cheap. Costs too much to send it back. Save your money

UTTER GARBAGE...! Don't waste your money on this light. Cheap construction, poor design, comes in pieces and won't work no matter how it's assembled. Get the Winchester Flexible LED Bore Light instead, same price, far superior product.

As the other folks have said, this is truly a piece of junk. I struggled to load the batteries and screw the two halves of the thing together. When I succeeded, it worked only once then failed completely. If I were Hoppes, I would be ashamed to have my name on this product. Needless to say, I'm sorry I didn't read all of your reviews first and proceeded to toss it in the trash. Fortunately, I found a Remington type product (also sold by MidwayUSA). Works great!

Don't buy it! This is a ...

Don't buy it! This is a piece of flea market quality made in China junk. Mine did not work and the battery area would not even fit the required AAA batteries. I guess they have smaller batteries in China. Dont buy unless yo want to pay $6.29 to have some broken China gunk sitting in your junk drawer.

Broke two minutes out of the box. Batteries and some crappy tube rolled under the oven and I have not even bothered to look for them. Just a pathetic waste of money. I wish there was a zero star option.

Just like the others, I have to say this thing is a waste of money. The "switch" was so spotty that you couldn't count on it to work half the time. Avoid this product. I like the non flexible bore lights myself but this one is bad.

Bulb lasted a few days. ...

Bulb lasted a few days. Light falls apart when using it, very irritating. The fiber optic bent tube is very helpful and it's gives just the right amount of light up the barrel. To bad Hoppe's sullies there good name with this cheaply made junk.
