I bought this to accommodate a pair of Ruger 10/22 10-round mags. It's a little too long for that purpose, but the mags fit securely. I wish someone would make a good afforable mag pouch specifically for the 10/22, but this one will do.

Speed loader pouches are well made, but very bulky. Also and most inportantly, I could not find any speed loaders that would fit in it. I tried 5 shot J frame as well as 6 shot 32 mag loaders. The pouch is too narrow for them to fit in and too deep. If you need a 5 shot pouch for a .223, this would probably be perfect.

I thught I'd give this case a try, but I'm kind of sorry I did. These pouches are made with uniformed carry in mind, and they are very bulky. They look very nice, are very sturdy, but have one big drawback in my opinion. The top edge of the pouch is rimmed with nylon web, which creates a very pronounced edge inside the case. Try to pull the speedloaders straight out and they catch, every time. Not cool. The saving grace is that the pouch interior is lined with slick material, with no lip on the backside of the case. To draw the loaders, I have to pull them first to the back of the case, then up and out. I'm not really too keen on needing a special technique to pull out my speedloaders. Occassionaly I have fumbled with these during practice and released the cartridges into the case while fighting the loader on that lip. Uncool. I would not buy this case again.
