Pachmayr Gripper grips are made from a specially formulated rubber compound which optimizes control and recoil absorption. The finger groove style is popular for combat shooting and hunting. A covered backstrap and slight palm swell fills the hand but is not so large as to be uncomfortable. Gripper grips are fully checkered for appearance as well as for control. Black.

Some of these grips are incorrectly stamped "SQ Butt" inside the grip, but will fit round butt revolvers.

Even if you trim it as ...

Even if you trim it as mentioned below, the fit is not as it should be. The screw is obstructed by the hammer spring. When I asked what serial number constituted an old style I was told that I had to contact S&W to determine. Cavite emptor.

I have a stock 686 and ...

I have a stock 686 and like the other guy reported "the hole to secure the grip with the screw is directly over the mainspring making it impossible to attach permanently. I had to return it as unusable." I contacted Pachmayr and they said this is a known issue and are working to correct the grip by relocating the screw hole. They have no ETA at this time.

Grips fit my model 65, 3 ...

Grips fit my model 65, 3 inch great except there was some extra material around the backstrap and front finger grooves that I had to remove with a Dremel/file but after that they feel great!

The grip fit my S&W 686 ...

The grip fit my S&W 686 very well and felt much better than the stock Hogue grip. It's a little bigger which allows my long fingers perfect placement on the trigger. Unfortunately, the hole to secure the grip with the screw is directly over the mainspring making it impossible to attach permanently. I had to return it as unusable.

I put one of these on my ...

I put one of these on my S&W L frame, I like it better than the stock Hogue grip since it is bit larger, the Hogue grip always felt too small in my hand. The other thing that I like about this grip is that it is more defined than the Hogue, using these grips, the position of the hand in relation to the the gun is more consistent. Installed with no problems. The one thing I don't understand is the small gap in the bottom of the grip, it is about 1 inch long by 1/32 inch wide, however, this is not a problem since it does not negatively affect the grip performance, besides, the gun shoots better with this grip since it allows for more control.

I was unhappy with the ...

I was unhappy with the Decelerator Grip on my N-Frame model 629 44 Magnum because it was floppy and too spongy in my hand, but I loved the Gripper Grip on my K-Frame model 15-4 38 special when I tried it out. It also fit my N-Frame, so I ordered another for it. I could not be happier. It fits nice and snug, and a good tight grip keeps a weapon firm in your hands.
