The sub-heading for this ...

The sub-heading for this bullet should read, "Most surprising bullet ever made." Loading with IMR 4064 I have achieved sub-moa five shot groups out of my well used 1936 8x57mm Kar 98k with a 3-9x40 Leupold VX-I on top. Performance past 300 yards is what you would expect given the ballistic coefficient of .217, but most shooters would probably not consider the 8x57 a long range cartridge to begin with. One downside, if more than two rounds are loaded into a Mauser magazine the nose hangs up when attempting to close the bolt. Accuracy and value more than compensate for that inconvenience.

I haven't used these ...

I haven't used these bullets to take deer yet, but the accuracy they gave me in my M24/47 Mauser was good. Nothing amazing, but good. I have no doubts on their ability to take game, and may use them this year just to see. The only bad thing I have to say about these bullets is that my rifle sometimes have difficulties chambering rounds - the round nose shape somehow allows the cartridge to get caught on the ramp. These are the only bullets I've had this issue with. On an end note, the powders I've used: IMR 3031, 4895, 4320, and BL-C(2).

Just loaded into a ...

Just loaded into a Browning BLR .325 WSM lever rifle. Surprisingly accurate for a round nose at 100 meters! will use it on a tree stand in dense woods soon. Like a .30-30 on steroids.

I have really fallen in ...

I have really fallen in love with this bullet in my M48. It pretty much does it all out to 200 yards. I've experimented with a variety of powders, but keep coming back to 4064. 4350 is better for heavier bullets perhaps, but with 42gr you get a tame but still plenty hard hitting brush load for deer where distances are always under 100 yds. Go up to 47gr for more whoomp on bigger game (2525fps), or for deer out to 200yds. Almost any charge weight results in a super accurate load. Indeed, I still find it hard to believe that a round nose can be this accurate. I have used them in 200 yd offhand shoots, and done every bit as well as I did using mega-buck HPBTs. At this point I try to keep a good supply of them, because it's pretty much all I shoot out of the Mauser anymore.

I have been using these ...

I have been using these bullets for over a year now and am absolutely amazed at how accurate they are. I load these using IMR 4064 with CCI primers and can shoot 1.5" groups at 100 yards from all three of my Mauser K98ks, using iron sights. I've loaded and shot all the 8mm offerings from Speer, Sierra, as well as Hornady's other 8mm bullets. All of them were good bullets that shot well...but this one still outshoots them all!!! As for hunting...used this bullet on elk hunt last fall using a Remington Model 700 Classic. Left broadside shot at just under 150 yrds. Bull took two staggered steps and dropped like a rock. Recovered bullet from just under the hide on his right... had mushroomed perfectly. Accurate and deadly what more can you ask for?!?!?

Used this bullet to take three adult white tail deer, all shots were complete pass through with good exits. Velocity was 2750 in an 8X57. ice bullet, economically priced.

I reload 7.92x57 Mauser ...

I reload 7.92x57 Mauser (8mm Mauser) with this bullet and have good results. Using this bullet over IMR4064 and Federal G210M match primers gives a good target load that should also be good for hunting. Consistent quality and an economical bullet to reload and shoot.

My 44 Oberndorf Mauser ...

My 44 Oberndorf Mauser loves these. It hits game hard like a punch. Took a Muley and Antelope in Wyoming at just over 200 yds. on both,and neither took a step after. I use Win.760 or IMR-4350.
